John Gilbert Blanc
John Gilbert Blanc, 82, of Potts Camp, died Dec. 3, 2013, at his home.
Services were held on Dec. 6 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Memorial Park in Memphis, Tenn.
Having no survivors, he was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert J. and Louise T. Blanc.

Winfred Louis Boyd
Winfred Louis Boyd, 69, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 3, 2013, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, Tenn. He was a Sunday school teacher and self-employed with ABC bail bonding company.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red Banks, where he was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. S.A. Phillips officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Joe Ann Isom Boyd; four children, Wendy Fitzpatrick of Farmington, Mich., Phylisha Carter, Tarance Isom, both of Holly Springs, Dominique Boyd of Pontiac, Mich.; a sister, Helen Brown of Tuscumbia, Ala.; two brothers, Jones Boyd of Lakeland, Tenn., Claude Boyd of Jackson, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Joe Ellis Jr.
Joe Ellis Jr., 64, of Byhalia, died Dec. 4, 2013, at his home. He was a laborer with Byhalia Brick and Tile.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 14 at Victoria Church of Christ in Victoria, where he was a member. Burial will be in Newell Chapel CME Church Cemetery. Brother David Jackson will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves three children, Jacqueline Malone of Olive Branch, LaKita Wilson of Mishawaka, Ind., Cedric Ellis of Victoria; his mother, Moznnia Guy Ellis of Byhalia; eight sisters, Katie Woods of Barton, Mozella Webb, Betty Washington, Gracie Ellis, all of Byhalia, Gale Hardin of Southaven, Peggy Jones of Chulahoma, Bertha Hinton of Olive Branch, Arlene Caldwell of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jerry Ellis, Ulysses Ellis, both of Byhalia; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Banks and Cecil Guy.
Clyde “Big Daddy” Green, 94, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 4, 2013, at his home. He was the widower of Birdie Green. He was a retired welder and a member of Hometown Pentecostal Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 10 at Forest Hill South Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Mary Lee Green; a daughter, Trudy Byard of Holly Springs; stepdaughters Linda Underwood of Russellville, Ark., Polly Goodwin of Havana, Ark.; sons, Benny Green of Memphis, Tenn., Billy Green of Horn Lake; stepsons, Charles Carpenter, Robin Carpenter, both of Havana; sisters, Christine and Rachel; stepsisters, Lola May and Martha; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stella Shannon.
Pallbearers were Joey Byard, Chris Byard, Marcus Green, Erick Green, Johnny Shannon and Johnny Green.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Youth Village in Independence.
Roger Hobbs, 62, of Hickory Flat, died Dec. 4, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Memphis, Tenn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two daughters, Harley Hobbs, Machelle Hobbs, both of Hickory Flat; a sister, Lisa Hobbs of Alabama; three brothers, Kenneth Hobbs of Coldwater, Robert Hobbs of Holly Springs and Howard Hobbs of California.
Jacob Lee Hudson
Jacob Lee “Papa Jake” Hudson, 75, of Hickory Flat, died Dec. 3, 2013. He was the widower of Isabell Rooks.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. L.G. Bogard officiated. Burial was in Powell Chapel Cemetery.
He leaves two daughters, Annita Hudson of Hickory Flat, Wendy Hudson of Holly Springs; four stepdaughters, Barbara Richardson, Josephine McAdams, Harriet Rooks, Mary Bogard, all of Holly Springs; three stepsons, Leroy Hubbard, James A. Hubbard, Clarence Rooks, all of Holly Springs; two sisters, Josephine Anderson, Ann Hudson, both of Jackson, Tenn.; a brother, Ameale Hudson of Jackson, Tenn.; 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
Pallbearers were Leroy Hubbard, Tracy Rooks, Lonnie Bogard Jr., James A. Hubbard, Tyrone Rooks and Clarence Rooks. Honorary pallbearers were Marco A. Rooks, Quincell Hubbard, Clifton McAdams, Marvin Hudson, Jr. Bogard and Mark A. Richardson.
Jonesha Katrell Hubbard
Jonesha Katrell Hubbard, 24, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 21, 2013, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Christ Temple Church of God In Christ, where she was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Supt. Albert Pass officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two children, Jeremiah Eligah Hubbard, Joshua Matthew Hubbard, both of Holly Springs; her mother, Anelia Hubbard-Craig of San Antonio, Texas.; her father, Curtis Blair Jr. of Michigan; two sisters, Mya Nicole Bridgeforth of Los Angeles, Calif., Ayanna Bridgeforth of San Antonio; a brother, Tavon Joiner of Oxford; and her grandmother, Sallie Ann Hubbard of Holly Springs.
Billy Glen Jamieson
Billy Glen Jamieson, 76, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 4, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch. He was a security guard and Pentecostal.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Hill Crest Cemetery.
He leaves his wife Margie Gammons Jamieson; a daughter, Charlotte McClure (Harvey) of Holly Springs; four brothers, Tommy Jamieson (Onita) of Slayden, James Jamieson (Frances), Don Jamieson (Marjean), both of Potts Camp, Johnny Jamieson of Waterford; three sisters, Linda Place (Doug) of Carencro, La., Dora Jamieson of Memphis, Tenn., Dorothy Norris (Bobby) of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Jamieson.
Nellie Faye Hill Mauney
Nellie Faye Hill Mauney, 87, of Ashland, died Dec. 4, 2013, at Baptist Hospital Union County. She was the widow of Shelton Reed Mauney. She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Ripley Funeral Home. Burial was in Tippah Memorial Garden. Bro. Donnie Schuman and Bro. John Huggins officiated. Ripley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves three sons, Anthony Reed Mauney (Patsy) of Ashland, Timothy Allen Mauney (Molly) of Dumas, Jackie Glen Mauney of Victoria; two sisters, Elaine Hill Mauney of Ripley, Linda Hill Gray (Lynn) of Dumas; a brother, Lavon Hill of Dumas; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Charlie Wallace, Chad Jordan, Stanley Rolfe, Tom Mauney, Jeffrey Gray and Steve Rumsey. Honorary pallbearers were Nolan, Ryan, Logan and Shaun Wilbanks, Ashley and Carley Hodges, Katelyn McCallum, Addison Scroggins, Ashlyn Nicklos, Steve Short, Danny and Don Jeanes, Tom Mauney, Greg Sampson and Leonard Lester.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane (Duke) Hill and Bonnie Hill.

George Chevar Perry III, 42, of Byhalia, died Nov. 30, 2013, at his home. He was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School. He attended Holy Family School. He was an order filler with Grainger.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 7 at Mt. Zion CME Church in Benton County. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Rondias Cox officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his parents, Shirley Thompson Perry of Byhalia, George Perry Jr. (Clara) of Holly Springs; a sister, Heather A. Perry of Byhalia; a brother, Gerald J. Perry of Holly Springs; and a stepsister, Lucy Shuford.
Cathy B. Pruitt
Cathy B. Pruitt, 68, of Byhalia, died Dec. 6, 2013, at Methodist Healthcare in Olive Branch. She was former owner of Cathy’s Family Styles in Victoria for more than 20 years, and a school bus driver and cafeteria worker for DeSoto and Marshall County school systems for many years and a substitute teacher.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 13 at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Garden Cemetery at Evangel Full Gospel Church in Holly Springs. Bro. Mike Hensley and Bro. Melvin Shackleford will officiate.
She leaves her husband of 51 years, James Pruitt; two children, Shelia Pruitt, Sherry Pruitt, both of Victoria; three sisters, Mary Sudduth of Springfield, Ark., Lurlean Martin of Jefferson, Ga., Dixie Martin of Winder, Ga.; two brothers, Terry Martin of Fayetteville, Ark., Johnny Martin of Jefferson, Ga.; and two granddaughters.
Marshall Douglas Smith
Marshall Douglas Smith, 79, of Potts Camp, died Dec. 6, 2013, at Baptist Hospital in New Albany. He was a member of Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and a lead man at Sunbeam.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 7 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery. Bro. Steve Wilson officiated.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Marie Smith; two sons, Wayne Smith (Elaine), Terry Smith (Charlotte), both of Potts Camp; two sisters, Juanita Langston of Mt. Pleasant, Leonia Jones of Oxford; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
