Santa visits Byhalia Dec. 6; parade Dec. 14
The Town of Byhalia Christmas Tree Lighting and Arrival of Santa is set for Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.
Byhalia Elementary, Middle and High School choirs will perform. Citizens Bank will provide hot dogs.
The Town of Byhalia’s Christmas parade, “Byhalia Believes,” will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at 6 p.m.
If interested in participating in the parade, call Town Hall at 662-838-2135. No entry fee is required. Entry deadline is December 9.
Election results will be available online
Andre’ DeBerry and John Faulkner faced each other in a runoff election Tuesday of this week for District 5 state representative.
Due to early deadlines and printing for Thanksgiving, the results could not be published in this week’s South Reporter. They will be posted on the newspaper’s Facebook page and at www.southreporter.com.
Friends of Library to meet December 3
The next Friends of the Library meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 3, and there will be a time change.
It will begin at 11 a.m. with the program starting at 11:30 a.m.
Presentation Dec. 5 on ‘Affordable Care Act’
Holly Springs Mayor Kelvin Buck, in conjunction with his Pastors’ Advisory Council, will host a presentation on “The Affordable Care Act” Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Building.
Guest speaker will be Mrs. Ivory Craig, associate state director of community outreach, AARP, Jackson.
All citizens of Holly Springs, Marshall County and adjacent communities are invited to attend.

Deadline Nov. 29 for Holly Springs parade
The annual Holly Jolly Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, in downtown Holly Springs.
The parade is sponsored by the Holly Springs Main Street Chamber. Line-up starts at 3 p.m. at the Old Colonial parking area on East Van Dorn Avenue. Judging begins at 4 p.m. The parade starts at 5 p.m.
All entries must be received by November 29. Pick up an entry form at the Holly Springs Main Street Chamber and Holly Springs Tourism offices.
