Oliver Manning Burch III
Oliver Manning Burch III, 86, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 14, 2013, at his home. He was the widower of Carrie Hurdle Burch and Carol Clayton Burch. He was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Augusta, Ga. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Holly Springs, a pharmacist and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Dalton officiated.
He leaves a daughter, Beckey Burch House (Kenneth) of Decatur, Ala.; five sons, Manny Burch (Betty) of Holly Springs, Paul Burch (Barbara) of Mt. Pleasant, Mims Clayton (Barbie) of Memphis, Tenn., Drew Clayton (Lori) of Tupelo, Van Clayton (Kelly) of Forrest; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Holly Springs.

Elmo Clark Sr.
Elmo Clark Sr., 74, of Byhalia, died Nov. 10, 2013, at Methodist Healthcare in Olive Branch. He was the widower of Mary Louise Clark.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 16 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church - Wall Hill. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pastor Willie James Taylor officiated. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves five sons, Elmo Clark Jr. (Debra) of Ripley, Monroe Clark (Terri) of Jackson, Cleven Clark, Jeffery Clark (Vickie) of Byhalia, Terry Clark (Janfur) of Holly Springs; three daughters, Mary Stanback of Chicago, Ill., Cora Collins of Holly Springs, Beverly Higginbottom Marcus) of Cordova, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Clark of Olive Branch; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gregory Stanback, Marcus Higginbottom, Floyd Collins Jr., Kenneth Johnson, Tavish Clark and Marco Clark. Honorary pallbearers were Elmo Clark Jr., Monroe Clark, Cleveland Clark, Terry Clark and Jeffery Clark.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelia Clark, a brother and a sister.
William D. Floyd
William D. Floyd, 67, of Coldwater, died Nov. 9, 2013. He was a member of Still Waters Church. He retired from the City of Olive Branch where he worked as a maintenance supervisor.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch. Burial was in Greenleaf Cemetery in Independence.
He leaves his wife, Judy McBride Floyd; children William D. Floyd Jr., Jason Floyd, Cliff Roberts, Rochelle Mabry; sisters Arleva Bumpas, Martha Hangey, Betty Clayton, Elizabeth Russom; brothers James Floyd and Edward Floyd; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Daniel Husner White
Daniel Husner White, 75, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 17, 2013 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. A retired school teacher in Parkin, Ark., he taught math and science for 33 years. He was a member of St. Paul CME Church in Holly Springs, on the steward board, trustee board, was Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher, was on the finance committee and church treasurer. He worked for the Forestry Service and was a school bus driver.
Visitation will be Nov. 22 from 2-7 p.m. and with family from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home and Nov. 23 from 10-10:55 at the church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 23 at St. Paul CME Church with burial in Charity Hill Cemetery in Holly Springs. Rev. Charles Edward Dooley will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Florean Johnson Seay White; two daughters, Carol White Richard (Bennie) of Greenville, Charita White Fason (Derrick) of Bartlett, Tenn.; three sons, Norris Seay (Tharon) of Memphis, Tenn., Patrick Seay (Alma) of Holly Springs, Dedrial Seay of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Joycestine Robertson (Joe Earl) of Holly Springs; and 15 grandchildren.
Marvin Lucas Jr.
Marvin Lucas Jr., 25, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 11, 2013, in Little Rock, Ark. He was a member of Bell Grove MB Church, an active member of the Army National Guard, a musician and a former laborer with a trucking company.
Services were held at 12 noon on Nov. 16 at Chulahoma MB Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Bell Grove MB Church Cemetery. Pastor Mark Davis officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Diana Richmond Lucas of Holly Springs; his father, Marvin Lucas Sr. of Holly Springs; and three sisters, Latarsha Lucas, Felicia Lucas-Davis, both of Holly Springs and Monica Lucas of Starkville.
Mattie Lee Jones Martin
Mattie Lee Jones Martin, 91, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Nov. 13, 2013, at her home. She was the widow of Eddie Martin. She was a member of Greater Abyssinian MB Church in Memphis, a member of the Mother’s Board, and a retired employee of Admiral Benbow Inn., Morrison Inc.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 23 at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. S.A. Phillips will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two daughters, Bertha Harris (Calvin), Rubie Kegler (William), both of Memphis; a son, Harry Martin (Estelle) of Memphis; a sister, Arlillie Finley of Holly Springs, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memory Kelis Walls
Memory Kelis Walls, infant, died Nov. 11, 2013, at Baptist Women’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Hernando Road Church of Christ in Holly Springs. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her mother and father, Sherita Marie Corbert Walls and Willie B. Walls of Lamar; four sisters and a brother, Whitley, Kimberly, Alexandria, Chris and Narelle; and grandparents, Jearline Walls, Donald Corbert and Jacqueline Finley.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Woodson Walls.
John Ward, 58, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 12, 2013, at his home. He was a Baptist and an Air Force veteran. He worked for Nucor Steel of Memphis and was a former residential contractor.
Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife of 28 years, Janet Ward; three sons, Michael Jacon Cicalla of Northport, Ala., Jacob Bryant Ward of Cumming, Ga., and John Franklin Ward II of Memphis; his mother, Patricia Ward of Nesbit; a brother, Ronnie Ward of Lenoir City, Tenn.; a sister, Trish Stoy of Arkansas City, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
