“Boston boys” visit in Farris home, attend Ole Miss football game
Weekend guests of Charlie and Jane Farris were Greg Beloff, Chris Hollander and Ross Smith, who are all from the Boston, Mass., area. They were in town to participate in the Grove activities and attend the Ole Miss vs. Arkansas football game. Charlie and Jane met the trio eight years ago in the Grove when the Yankees had first come to Ole Miss for a game. The “Boston boys,” as they have become known, were unaware of the Grove rules. Charlie was sent to save them with a sleeve of red Solo cups and the rest is history! A great friendship was born with the help of the Internet. Since that time, the Farrises have met the boys in Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a game. Charlie also met the boys in Boston two years ago for the Bean Pot hockey games!
Congratulations to the Marshall Academy Patriots on their win against DeSoto School Friday night. The win moved them to the third week of playoffs, putting them one game closer to the state championship round. Friday night, Benton Academy, out of South Mississippi, will be traveling to Patriot field to battle for the chance to go to Jackson next week for the championship game. Last week, the stands were full of Patriot fans cheering as loudly as they could, ringing cow bells and making as much noise as possible. Please come out this Friday for the 7 p.m. kickoff to root the Patriots on to victory. These young men have worked hard all season to get to this level of play and need every fan there to support them!
