Keep those calls coming
We get lots of telephone calls here at The South Reporter – and that’s a good thing.
Some complain. Some praise. Some ask questions – about everything – not just newspaper-related matters.
Last week a kind lady called about purchasing a subscription to the newspaper.

Fairy tale wedding
My great-nephew Blake got married this past weekend. His bride, Katelin, wanted a “fairy tale” wedding. She certainly had one. Their wedding, I think, was probably the prettiest I’ve ever attended.
Blake and Katelin live in Nashville, Tenn., a place I like to visit. My niece Sister, Blake’s mother, lives off and on in Nashville and I like to see her as often as possible.
Great-nephew Brandon, Blake’s brother, also lives in Nashville. Emily, their little sister, who is two weeks younger than Meredith, my oldest granddaughter, lives in Little Rock, Ark., with her dad and his partner Donny. They own Bella Flora, a gorgeous flower shop. (Donny began decorating the Arkansas state capitol for Christmas Monday -- a huge honor!)
The Preacher’s Corner
If I forget my notes, I just go ahead and preach
One of my closest ministerial friends lost his sermon notes just before divine service, last Sunday, and I am writing to sympathize. Being an accomplished and experienced preacher, with something of the gift of gab, he was not delayed by the loss, although one who heard his improvised discourse confides to me that it was a bit longer than usual.
