One arrested in business robbery
By SUE WATSON
One man has been arrested in connection with the breaking and entering of Staton’s Rental-Purchase several weeks ago and the armed robbery of Family Dollar January 15.
William Hollowell, Holly Springs police chief, said a second suspect remains at large in the armed robbery incident.
Hollowell said two armed robbers entered Family Dollar about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday of last week and took $1,500 from the store. No one was hurt and there were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery, he said.
On the basis of camera surveillance, police issued a warrant for Tommy Walker, 47, of Milwaukee, Wis., who was living in the 100 block of Luton Cove in Holly Springs.
Walker was arrested Friday in Milwaukee by law enforcement and Holly Springs is seeking his extradition back to the city. Chief Hollowell said Walker will face charges in connection with the breaking and entering of Staton’s Thursday, Jan. 3, and the armed robbery of Family Dollar last week.
Walker was on probation in Wisconsin and had transferred his status back to Marshall County, but his status was revoked because he failed to meet with parole officers here, Hollowell said.
The second suspect in the armed robbery has not been identified, Hollowell said.
