Uprighting the fallen
Terry
Byers and Robert McKinney are first to get to work on putting fallen
and out-of-place stones at Hill Crest Cemetery back where they are
supposed to be. With dry weather and grass not growing as fast, the
buildings and grounds crew sets to work on repair work at the cemetery.
Normally Byers runs the lawn mower and McKinney runs the weed eater.
Supervisor Larry Miller said he wants to make repairs at the cemetery
in the off-season. This cornerstone of a family plot fence was one of
many that have fallen out of place in the historic cemetery over time
as soil erodes from around the settled structures. |
