Good kids, good teams
Going into last week’s junior high football game between Marshall Academy and Holly Springs, both head coaches told me it was about the kids and for the kids.
I like that approach – putting the kids first.
Close to Nowhere
Here comes thr bride
Family lines are so funny. In my mind, my great-niece was married Saturday, in a picture perfect wedding at her mom’s, my niece’s, home.
Except, Miranda is not exactly my great-niece. Laura, her mom, is not my niece. But they should be!
Laura’s mom Carolyn was actually Pop’s first cousin. After Pop and I married, Carolyn and I became very good friends. Better than friends really. She and I were as close as sisters. She passed away about 10 years ago now.
Truly, I am in the wrong business
Ronnie Musgrove was more than a little peeved when I asked him how much money he was going to make from his education lawsuit.
“It’s obvious y’all aren’t interested in the substantive facts. You’re just interested in what the lawyers are going to be paid. Imagine that!” he petulantly responded at the Stennis Institute lunch on the 19th floor of the Capitol Towers building in downtown Jackson.
Letter to the Editor
We must congratulate all our aldermen and mayor for doing such fine jobs in office this last year. We must applaud them in their great stewardship of our fine city!
Now that they are comfortably seated, there is an issue that should be addressed; albeit, one that should have been resolved a long time ago.
