Letter to the Editor
I just wanted to take a minute to say what a great time my wife and I recently had visiting your town.
We were meandering Mississippi, seeking out various sites that we had read about in a guide book entitled, “Mississippi, Off the Beaten Path,” when we ended up downtown in beautiful Holly Springs at the Main Street Chamber building.
Once there, we had the pleasure of meeting the delightful Shamecca Fitts, who not only described numerous attractions in the area, but actually drove us to a few sites in Holly Springs Tourism’s brand new VW van.
During the driving tour, we found Miss Shamecca to be a very knowledgeable, articulate, and enthusiastic proponent of Holly Springs’ history and local businesses.
For lunch, we stopped in at Annie’s, where we savored delicious home-style cooking in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Meeting the vivacious and lovely Miss Annie was worth the trip all by itself. After a brutal Wisconsin winter, stuck in a polar vortex, it was a real treat to bask in the warmth of Holly Springs’ hospitality.
We can’t wait to come back again, and will be using the complimentary Mississippi Hills DVD that Miss Shamecca gave us to help plan our next visit.
