Early September is the target time for opening of the Alliance HealthCare System Medical Arts Building. The
24,000 square foot facility is Phase I of three phases of construction
of a new medical campus in Holly Springs that will include the medical
arts building, a hospital and a health and wellness center. The
property is just off Highway 78. The medical building is the first to be completed with construction of the hospital scheduled to begin in early fall. Regina
Williams, director of Williams Medical Clinic, provided an overview of
activities that will take place at the medical building. She said three
clinics will be opened within the Alliance Medical Arts Building - the
Adult Clinic, the Pediatrics Clinic and the Physicians Group. The adult clinic will see patients 18 and over and has 20 patient examination rooms. The
pediatrics clinic has six examination rooms. The physicians clinic is
equipped for other specialties such as cardiology, urology, nephrology,
and gastroenterology. The pediatric clinic will have two waiting rooms, one for those who are sick and another for those well, she said. Nine physicians are expected to work at the clinics and will have their own office wing. Some
features to assist patients in getting easy and personal service
include a modern lobby at the entrance that will look and feel more
like a hotel lobby, Williams said. Patients will
fill out their paperwork in private rather than standing at a window in
the lobby. The clinic has two rooms for assisting patients with filling
out their forms before they go to the examination room to see the
doctor. A new design is in use at the clinic to
help patients relax and to guide them through the complex from waiting
room to examination room and back to the lobby. Cool and warm pastel
colors - the Sun Dial System - are used throughout the building and
are conducive to relaxation. Wall colors range from sky blue
(periwinkle) to pastel green to coral (pink). Color-coded
tile is used to help clients navigate their way through the various
hallways to their rooms. Burgundy colored natural birch doors are
throughout the building. Some other features of
the building include laboratories, x-ray rooms, a break room, a large
medical records area, and the emergency room at the rear of the
building. Donald Strider, project manager for
Phoenix Construction, said he is shooting for a phased move-in in early
September. He expects the transition from the Williams Clinic to the
Alliance Medical Building to take about a week. Service to patients
will not be interrupted, he said. Perry Williams,
administrator of the Alliance Healthcare System, said he expects to
move the Emergency Room from the hospital to the clinic when the clinic
opens or soon thereafter.
