| Police probe break-ins By SUE WATSON Staff Writer Officers
with the Holly Springs Police Department responded to several burglary
alarms and incidents over the week ending July 21. Chief
Robert Pearson said a burglary alarm call came in around 10:51 p.m.,
Monday, July 14, in the 100 block of East Boundary. Upon arrival to the
scene, officers found the glass front door knocked out. Several bottles
of canine anthelminic suspension were missing from the office. In
another incident, officers responded to an attempted burglary of a
commercial building in the 100 block of Market Street, Tuesday, July
15. Officers were assigned to patrol the building when they discovered
the front door of the business was shattered. In
a burglary, Thursday, July 17, a business in the 200 block of North
Memphis Street was broken into. Several cell phones and about $100 in
cash was missing. Entry was made into the building through a window on
the north side of the building. Another burglary
of a commercial building was reported in the 500 block of Craft Street,
Friday, July 18. The front door glass was shattered and several cell
phones were taken. Two arrests were made last week. Pearson said Teresa Stewart, 31, of Holly Springs, was arrested Tuesday, July 15, and charged with aggravated assault. Kevin
A. Guy, 34, of Holly Springs, was arrested Friday, July 18, and charged
with felony malicious mischief in the 800 block of Highway 7 North,
Pearson said. Officers responded to the following
activities for the week: driving while license suspended (3); no proof
of insurance (3), no tag/ expired tag (2); disregard for traffic device
(1); simple assault (2); simple assault domestic violence (2); DUI (1);
improper passing (1); malicious mischief (3); disorderly conduct (2);
resisting arrest (2); and violation of dog ordinance (1). Anyone
having information regarding any crime committed in Holly Springs or
the Marshall County area is asked to call either the police department
at 662-252-2122 or Crime Stoppers at 800-729-2169. Callers do not have
to give their names when leaving tips with police and may be entitled
to a reward of up to $1,000.
