BBB Cookoff & Festival Aug. 3 in Holly Springs
The Holly Springs Main Street Chamber will present is first annual Beats, Bikers & Bar-B-Que (BBB) Cookoff & Festival on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event, with free admission, will be held in the 1600 block of Crescent Meadow Drive (near Williams Medical Clinic). In addition to the cookoff, activities will include local bands, arts and crafts, food booths and kids’ water activities.

Supervisor Terry sets town hall meeting
District 1 supervisor Charles Terry will be holding a town hall meeting on July 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the supervisors’ board room.
The board room is located at 103B Market Street, next door to the tax collector’s office in Holly Springs. District 1 citizens are urged to attend and give your input about county matters.
Holly Springs Chamber to host luncheon
The Holly Springs Main Street Chamber will host its third quarterly meeting of the year Thursday, Aug. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Beckley Center, across from the Rust College campus. Booster Club having fund-raiser Friday
The Holly Springs Football Booster Club will have a hamburger steak meal fund-raiser on Friday, July 26. The hours are 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Holly Springs High School cafeteria, 165 North Walthall. Call (662) 316-9005.
The cost is $6 per plate – dine in or carry-out. There will be free delivery for five or more and for seniors over the age of 65. Plates include hamburger steak, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and dessert.
Byhalia police officers respond to 33 calls
The Byhalia Police Department responded to 33 calls during the past week.
Chief Gary Looney released the following report – alarm calls, 4; miscellaneous, 12; escorts, 5; domestic, 1; animals, 2; assists, 1; fires, 1; burglaries, 1; and medical, 6.
Byhalia police also made two arrests last week.
