Chamber lunch July 24 at Northcentral
The next Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce quarterly luncheon is Thursday in Northcentral Electric Power Association auditorium in Olive Branch.
Displays are open beginning at 11:15 a.m. A lunch buffet starts at 11:45 a.m. featuring fried catfish with all the trimmings, cooked by Sheriff Kenny Dickerson and his team. The program will be held from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
Guest speaker is Kevin Doddridge, general manager of Northcentral Electric Power Association.
Cost for Chamber members is $10 (with reservation) and general admission $15 (with reservation). Without reservations, the cost is $15 for members and $20 general admission.
Humane Society schedules fund-raiser
The Dog Days of Summer Live and Silent Auction, sponsored by the Marshall County Humane Society, will be held Friday, August 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the VFW in Holly Springs.
“We need to raise a large amount of funds at our yearly event to continue to assist dogs and cats in the area,” said Jeanine Kahrs.
“This is always a really fun event, and this year we have some exceptional items for bid.”
Those include overnight stays in New Orleans, La., or Dauphin Island, Ala., custom painting from your pet’s photo, framed prints, hunting trips, tools, play tickets, dog and cat accessories, plus many more items.
The event will again be catered by Clancy’s Café and a wine tasting table is being provided by Alliance Beverage Mississippi.
Sounds of Summer August 23 in Byhalia
The Sounds of Summer Arts and Music Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Byhalia Walking Track, 120 College Street.
Gate admission is $5 (12 years and under free). A kids fun zone wristband will be available for $5.
Highlights of this year’s festival include arts and crafts booths, fantastic food, live music featuring Ingram Hill and Shy and Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry, a cornhole tournament, wellness and business exhibits, motorcycle and Model A car displays, and much more.
Bring lawn chairs and enjoy the many activities.
