Potts Camp sweeps Rebels By BARRY BURLESON Editor Potts Camp teams celebrated nail-biting wins in rival territory Friday night. The
Lady Cardinals and Cardinals traveled just a few miles east on Highway
78 and knocked off Hickory Flat by three and five points, respectively. Brittany Pitts’ three at the buzzer was the difference as the Potts Camp girls beat the Lady Rebels 65-62. “It’s
the second time this week (also versus North Pontotoc on Tuesday), that
we decided to wait until the fourth quarter to play,” coach Tana Miller
said. Potts Camp trailed 16-10 following one
quarter, 29-25 at the half and 46-42 after three. But they rallied in
the fourth, outscoring Hickory Flat 23-16 for the three-point victory. Leading the point production were Hayley Davis and Tenesha Woods with 14 each. Jessica Peterson had 13. For
Hickory Flat, Brianna Reaves scored a game-high 22. Others in double

Jamarquis Foster poured in a game-high 24 points for the Cardinals. Jarvis Jones was next with 14 and Keldrick Wiseman had 11. Potts
Camp took control early, going up 14-6 in the opening period. The
Cardinals had a 27--point outburst in the second quarter and led 41-24
at the half. A Rebel rally try fell short in the second half as the Cardinals escaped with the five-point victory. Top scorers for Hickory Flat were Jordan Thompson with 22 and James Baker with 19. The Potts Camp boys entered this week’s competition at 2-18 overall and 1-1 in the district. P.C. vs. N. Pontotoc Potts Camp squads split with North Pontotoc on the road Tuesday, Jan. 8.
