Mae
Campbell, 83, of Holly Springs, died July 13, 2008 at Baptist Hospital
Hospital in Oxford. She was the widow of Howard A. Campbell and a
member of Believers Baptist Church.
Services
were held at 11 a.m. on July 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery.
She
leaves five sons, Bro. Bobby Campbell of Red Banks, Paul Campbell of
Oxford, Harold Campbell of Holly Springs, Ray Campbell of Oxford, Bill
Campbell of Holly Springs; a brother, Robert Shoffner of Hamilton, Ala;
14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Debra Ann Campbell; and a
great-granddaughter, Brittney Campbell.

Cecil
Ray Gandy Sr., 81, of Potts Camp, died July 8, 2008 at Baptist Hospital
in Oxford. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Potts Camp and a
factory worker with Wurlitzer.
Services
were held at 10 a.m. on July 10 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Chewalla Cemetery in Potts Camp.
He
leaves his wife, Nita Williams Gandy; a son, Cecil Ray Gandy Jr. of
Potts Camp; a daughter, Kathy Ritts of Potts Camp; a brother, Clyde E.
Gandy of Potts Camp; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He
was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Gandy and two brothers and
four sisters.

Tim
Hollifield Jr., 73, of Lamar, died July 10, 2008 at his home. He was a
heavy equipment operator.
Services
were held at 3 p.m. on July 12 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Clear Creek Cemetery in Lamar. Bro. Tony Roberts and
Kevin Thomas officiated.
He
leaves his wife,
Bobbie Hollifield; four sons, Timothy Hollifield of Byhalia, Mike
Hollifield of Batesville, Leroy Hollifield, Terry Hollifield, both of
Lamar; a daughter, Darlene Hollifield of Hattiesburg; a sister, Ailene
Smith of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Wayne Pegues
Davis
Wayne Pegues, 52, of Holly Springs, died July 5, 2008 in Holly Springs.
He was a truck driver for the Marshall County Road and Bridge
Department. A member of Calvin Chapel United Methodist Church, he was a
church trustee, president of the United Methodist Men and a member of
the Men’s Breakfast Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Services
were held at 11 a.m. on July 12 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium.
Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Edward Charles Moses
officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
He
leaves his wife, Carolyn
Willamson Pegues; two daughters, Yolanda Pegues, LaTanya Pegues, both
of Holly Springs; three sons, Rodriquez Pegues, Reginald Pegues, Jerome
Pegues, all of Holly Springs; four sisters, Dorothy M. Malone of
Memphis, Tenn., Gwendolyn P. Toombs of Memphis, Tenn., Beverly Cobbs of
Chicago, Ill., Minnie Rice of Bellwood, Ill.; a brother, Roger Pegues
of Chicago, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers
were United Methodist Men, Marshall County Road and Bridge Dept. and
Men’s Breakfast Club.
He
was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodriquez Pegues Jr.

Irene
Poe, 87, of Potts Camp, died July 9, 2008 at her home. She was the
widow of William “Dub” Poe and a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Services
were held at 11 a.m., July 11 at Salem Baptist Church with burial in
Cornersville Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
She
leaves four children, Linda
Covington of Blue Springs, Bonnie Berryhill of Potts Camp, Larry Poe of
Collierville, Tenn., Regina Browning of Etta; two brothers, Veryl
Gilliam of Memphis, Tenn., Arnold Gilliam of Blue Springs; and eight
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Gilliam and a sister, Chris
Lollar.
Pallbearers
were Hayes McDonald, Jeff Covington, Jonathan Berryhill, Chris Poe and
Craig Browning.
Memorials

Morris
(Big Mo) Rish, 69, of Byhalia, died July 8, 2008 at his home. He was a
construction worker, a volunteer fireman at the Cayce Fire Department
and a member of the Carpenters Local 345 in Memphis, Tenn., and member
of the Christian Motorcyclist Association. He was Pentecostal and a
member of the Family Tabernacle Church of God in Memphis, Tenn.
Services
were held at 11 a.m. on July 12 at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in
Bolivar, Tenn. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery in Hardin County, Tenn.
He
leaves his wife, whom he married May 12, 1967, Kay Rish; four
sons,
William Morris Rish Jr. of Memphis, Thomas Perry Sr., Ronny Perry,
Robert Rish, all of Byhalia; seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; and his mother, Hazel McFarland Rish of Memphis,
Tenn.
He
was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Rish.
