Celebrating the positives
It’s a wonderful thing when the positive juices start flowing. And there were plenty after the huge fireworks show July 3 in downtown Holly Springs, accompanied by the kickoff of Bikers and Blues.
I had to miss the extravaganza due to family business in Alabama, but I started hearing great things from two hours away that night via text.
Close to Nowhere
I’m not a Chinese cook
• Tuesday was my daughter’s birthday, so I cooked dinner for her Sunday evening.
Now, I’m a pretty good cook most of the time -- as long as I don’t go sit down at the computer while I’m cooking.
I had some new Chinese recipes and ingredients and since Dana loves Chinese it worked out.
Cup of Joy
This tree always said, ‘Rest here’
There’s always been this house up the road, ever since I can remember - a landmark of sorts.
When I was a child, coming to visit my grandparents in Red Banks, I always knew we were almost to Memaw and Papaw’s house by this one outstanding sign - the little house on the left side of Hwy. 178 W, with the gnarled tree growing out from under the porch.
