All-star teams going to tourneys
Five Marshall County all-star teams will play in the Dizzy Dean state tournaments this year.
The 6-year-old baseball team is coached by Danny Warren and Jason Hunt and will play in Batesville starting July 10.
The 8-year-old baseball team, coached by Clint Moffitt and Michael Green, will play at Winona starting July 10.
The 10-year-old baseball team is coached by Dennis Hopkins and Dustin Clarkson and will play at Houston starting July 11.
The 12-year-old baseball team, coached by Michael Green and Shane Stone, will play in Starkville starting July 11.
The 10-year-old softball team is coached by Don Cothern and Jason Gurley and will play in Batesville starting July 3.

The 6 baseball, 8 baseball and 10 softball teams will automatically advance to the World Series in Southaven later in July.
The 10 baseball and 12 baseball teams will have to earn their way to the World Series.
“These players and coaches have worked hard all year to accomplish this goal,” said Janice Wagg, president of the Marshall County league. “All teams are accepting donations to help cover expenses.”
