The Marshall County Sports League is wrapping up its 10th season.
It was started in 2005 to provide organized recreational baseball and softball for the children of Marshall County. The towns of Byhalia, Holly Springs, and Potts Camp came together to form the Dizzy Dean league. A few years ago Hickory Flat joined.
Holly High teams busy on hardwood this summer

Coach Sylvester Kilgore said his Holly Springs basketball teams are gaining valuable experience this summer against top-notch competition.
The Lady Hawks have made road trips to camps at Troy, Ala., and the University of Mississippi. The Hawks have visited Northwest Mississippi Community College for games. Both teams are also competing at H.W. Byers.

There is little chance that anyone who watched the just recently concluded NBA playoff missed any nuance in game five. NBA TV has repeated the game numerous times since Father’s Day and everyone closely connected had an opportunity to weigh in.
Basketball camp set for July
The first annual Holly Springs Fundamentals Basketball Camp, hosted by Mayor Kelvin Buck, will be held July 7-11 and July 14-18.
The camp, for boys and girls second grade through college, will be held at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Cost is $25 for one week and $50 for two weeks.
Session I is 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Session II from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Three-on-three tourney scheduled July 18
A three-on-three basketball tournament will be held Saturday, July 18, at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building.
The fee is $80 with up to four players per team.
