Byers athletes sign college scholarships
The school year ended with a bang for several H.W. Byers athletes.
Five signed scholarships, either athletic or academic, on Friday, May 30, in the school gymnasium, while another who is advancing to the next level could not attend the ceremony.

Fishing rodeo set for Saturday
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and the Lafayette County Law Enforcement Officers Association will host a youth fishing rodeo at Puskus Lake on Saturday, June 14.
The fishing rodeo is open to youth 15 years and under; registration begins at 8 a.m. Puskus Lake is located in Holly Springs National Forest northeast of Oxford.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, catfish bait, and stringers.
