| Robbery, burglary suspects arrested By SUE WATSON Staff Writer Marshall
County officers made arrests in a burglary of a commercial building in
Potts Camp and in a robbery of an individual at Mt. Pleasant last week,
according to Sheriff Kenny Dickerson. On
Thursday, May 22, in the afternoon, deputies responded to a robbery
call to the scene in front of First State Bank at 53 Taska Road in Mt.
Pleasant, he said. Upon arrival, officer Bob Dickerson witnessed a while male struggling with a black male in a vehicle in front of the bank. Upon
investigation, Dickerson determined that the black male had taken money
from the white male and arrested Derrecco Murphy, 23, and later charged
the subject with robbery of an individual. Murphy was in jail Tuesday
this week under $50,000 bond. The money was recovered from the suspect,
according to Sheriff Dickerson. In an unrelated
incident, officers were dispatched to a fight call at Bethany Church in
the Potts Camp area Saturday, May 24 at 2:58 p.m., Dickerson said. Upon
arrival, deputy Chad McClatchey arrested Joshua Michael Dague, 23, of
7096 Church Street, Potts Camp, and Jackie Lee Neal, 32, of 6995 Church
Street, Potts Camp. Deputy McClatchey observed
some unusual items in the vehicle the two subjects were driving and
upon further investigation, found a storage unit behind the church had
been broken in. Items recovered from the subjects vehicle included a
Peavey Speaker, paint and a propane heater. Dague and Neal where charged with burglary of a commercial building and bond was set at $10,000 each, Dickerson said.
