Behind The Scoreboard
Pair of popular NBA series
There is a song by one of my favorite singing groups which has a line that goes, “And as history repeats itself.”
I can imagine that the OKC Thunder is hoping that this could be the case for their so far grueling series with the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder and Spurs were pitted against each other a short two years ago in another Western Conference finals. The Spurs went to a 2-0 start and allowed the Thunder to take the next four games then go on to face King James and his court at the inception of their reign.
Fishing rodeo set for Saturday
The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks and the Olive Branch Parks and Recreation Department will host a youth fishing rodeo at the George M. Harrison Municipal Park on Saturday, May 31.
The fishing rodeo is open to youth 15 years and under; registration begins at 8 a.m. The George M. Harrison Municipal Park is located at 8700 Church Rd at the intersection of Hwy 305.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, catfish bait, and stringers.
Fishing rodeos offer a quality fishing experience for younger anglers in a controlled and safe environment. The rodeo ponds are well stocked with catfish to make it easier for participants to catch fish. This event is a great way for a family to spend quality time together.
Those seeking additional information can call the Parks and Recreation office at (662) 893-5219 or the MDWFP Fisheries Bureau at (601) 432-2200.
