Holly Springs police officers respond to variety of calls All
dog licenses must be renewed during the month of June, according to
chief Robert Pearson. Licenses cost $10 each and may be obtained at the
Holly Springs Police Department. The police department released an incident report for the last two weeks of work – May 16-22 and May 23-29. May 16 • a domestic violence-simple assault in the 200 block of MLK Drive. • a vehicle burglary in the Highway 7 South area. A CD player and wallet were stolen. • a breaking and entering of a commercial building in the East College Avenue area. • a domestic violence-simple assault in the 200 block of Craft Street. •
a domestic violence-simple assault in the 200 block of Elder.
Lashaundra Jones, 20, of Holly Springs was arrested, according to Chief
Pearson. May 17 • a malicious mischief in the 100 block of Van Dorn. A window was shattered. • a malicious mischief in the 300 block of Richmond Street. A window was shattered. • a simple assault in the 100 block of Falconer Street. May 18 • a simple assault in the Highway 4 East area. • an arson report in the 100 block of Jarrott Street. No known suspects. May 19 • a burglary of a commercial building in the 300 block of Maury Street. Approximately $100 was missing. • a petit larceny in the 400 block of Ridgecrest Drive. A lawn mower was stolen. • a malicious mischief in the 500 block of West Street. A window was broken out of a vehicle. • a report of uttering forgery in the 200 block of Johnson Park. May 20 • a burglary report in the 200 block of Randolph Street. Nothing was missing. • a burglary of an occupied dwelling in the 200 block of West Valley Street. No injuries reported and nothing stolen. • a malicious mischief; four vehicle tires slashed. • a trespassing in the 300 block of MLK Drive. May 21 • a cyber harassment in the 100 block of Rust Avenue. • a domestic violence-simple assault in the Highway 7 South area. May 22 • a burglary of an occupied dwelling in the 800 block of West Street. No injuries reported and nothing stolen. • a burglary of a dwelling in the 400 block of Ridgecrest Drive. A flat-screen television was stolen. • a malicious mischief in the 100 block of Academy Drive. Two windows were shattered and a post dislodged. • a malicious mischief in the 600 block of Highway 7 North. An air conditioner was damaged. • a simple assault in the 500 block of Craft Street. Officers
reported the following actions for the week: disregard for traffic
device, 1; passing a stopped school bus, 1; no license/expired license,
2; suspended driver’s license, 1; child restraint violation, 1; no
proof of insurance, 1; no tag/expired tag, 2; domestic violence-simple
assault, 1; telephone harassment, 1; resisting arrest, 1; public drunk,
1; probation violation, 1; and contempt of court, 7. May 24 • a petit larceny in the North Center Street area. • recovery of property from the park at W. Boundary and W. College Street. • a petit larceny in the 300 block of West Woodward. • a threat made against an individual at College Street. • a family disturbance in the 200 block of MLK Drive. • a domestic disturbance at MI College Homes. May 25 • a domestic violence in the 400 block of Craft Street. May 26 • a trespassing report in the 200 block of East Valley. •
a burglary and grand larceny in the 1300 block of Highway 7 North.
Several items were taken from the residence and yard. No forced entry. May 27 • a hit and run accident at South Chesterman and Neely. May 28 • a simple assault in the South Memphis Street area. • an assault in the Chancery Court Room on Market Street. May 29 • a bicycle stolen from the 100 block of South Chesterman. Three arrests were made during the week, Chief Pearson said. Curtis
Aldridge, 25, of Red Banks, was arrested and charged with burglary and
robbery. David Rivers, 44, of Memphis, Tenn., was charged with identity
theft. Bryan Gregory, 33, of Tupelo, was charged with felony simple
assault on a court officer. Officers reported
these additional activities for the week ending May 29: speeding, 5;
disregard for traffic device, 1; driving while license suspended, 3;
driving while license suspended (consent law), 1; reckless driving, 1;
careless driving, 1; child restraint law, 1; seatbelt violation, 5; no
driver’s license, 4; no tag, 1; improper turn, 2; no proof of
insurance, 3; DUI First, 1; loud music, 1; possession of cocaine, 1;
and possession of paraphernalia, 1.
