Chamber of Commerce lunch May 29 in Holly
Springs
The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce Membership
Luncheon will be held Thursday, May 29, at 12 noon at Annie’s
Restaurant.
Guest speakers will be Sam Agnew with the Mississippi
Main Street Association and Lindsay Buford with Chamber Plus Insurance.
Tickets are $12 for members (pre-sold) and $15 for
non-members or at the door.

Early deadlines in place for next
week’s South Reporter
The South Reporter announces early deadlines for its
next edition due to the Memorial Day holiday.
The deadline for classified advertising for the May 29
newspaper is this Friday, May 23, at 12 noon.
The deadline for all other advertising, including legal
notices, plus all news is this Friday, May 23, at 5 p.m.
The
South Reporter office in Holly Springs will be closed Monday, May 26,
in observance of Memorial Day and reopen Tuesday, May 27, at 8 a.m.
The May 29 newspaper will be distributed on the regular
schedule next week.
High school graduations continue this weekend
Several high school graduation ceremonies are set for
this weekend.
• H.W. Byers, Friday, May 23, 6 p.m., gymnasium.
• Friendship Christian Academy, Friday, May 23,
6 p.m., church auditorium.
• Holly Springs, Friday, May 23, 7 p.m., Rust
College
• Potts Camp, Saturday, May 24, 10 a.m.,
gymnasium.
• Byhalia, Saturday, May 24, 2 p.m, gymnasium.
Bethlehem
Christian School held its graduation ceremony last Saturday evening,
while Marshall Academy seniors graduated on Monday night.
City officers participate in ‘Click
It or Ticket’ campaign
With
the Memorial Day weekend coming up, the Holly Springs Police Department
announced it will participate in the “Click It or
Ticket” campaign to
reduce accidents.
Chief Robert Pearson reported the following
citations for the week ending May 19: driving while license suspended
(5); no driver’s license (2); no tag/expired tag (2); no
proof of
insurance (1); careless driving (2); reckless driving (1); disregard
for traffic device (3); seatbelt violation (1); simple assault/domestic
violence (1); disorderly conduct (1); shoplifting (1); trespassing (2);
and violation of dog ordinance (2).
