ObituariesRoberta Tucker Allen Roberta Tucker Allen, 66, of Ashland, died May 5, 2013, in her home. She was married to Kirby Allen of Chicago. Visitation
was held May 10 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home. Services were
held at 11 a.m. on May 11 at Greenwood MB Church. Burial was in the

of arrangements. She leaves five children, Lori

Albirdia Brown (Wendell) of Ashland, Karey Tucker (Monique) of Spring
Hill, Tenn.; nine brothers, George Brown Jr. (Nina), Eddie B. Brown,
Olando Brown (Lemmie), Herman L. Brown, all of Holly Springs, Roy McKay
(Devon), Cornelius McKay (Teresa) of Ashland, John McKay of Potts Camp,
Lafayette McKay of Brentwood, Tenn.; five sisters, Mozella Phillips of
Holly Springs, Nina Bryson of Memphis, Tenn., Rosie McKay of Ashland,
Clara McKay of Holly Springs, Aretha Hampton of Potts Camp; 25
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Calvin Lewis Tucker and James Dean Tucker. Willie Earl Clardy
Willie Earl Clardy, 61, of Michigan City, died May 10, 2013, at his home. He retired from Caterpillar factory in 2012. Visitation
will be May 17 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home from 2-6 p.m. and
family visits at 5-6 p.m. and at the church on May 18 from 1:30-2:25
p.m. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on May 18
at Sims Chapel MB Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in the

leaves his wife, Dorothy Hampton Clardy; two daughters, Angela Scales
of Michigan City, Melissa Tate of Lamar; a stepdaughter, Lucy Tipler of

Murphy of Bolivar, Tenn.; two brothers, Chester Clardy of Grand
Junction, Tenn., Henry Clardy of Holly Springs; and 10 grandchildren. Bobby G. Garner Bobby
G. Garner, 74, of Memphis, Tenn., died May 12, 2013. He was the widower
of Carol Anne Garner. He was retired from the Memphis Police
Department. Services were held at 10 a.m. on May 15 at Forest Hill East Funeral Home Chapel. He
leaves his daughter, Kristie Garner of Cordova, Tenn.; a son, Jeff
Garner (Donna) of Memphis; sisters Barbara Carrington of Paris, Tenn.,
Debra Flowers of Atoka, Tenn., Renee Cook of Holly Springs; and two
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Freeman Garner. Lee Roy Glover

Roy Glover, 65, of Holly Springs, died May 10, 2013, at Golden Living
Care Home in Southaven. He was an former factory worker with General
Mills in St. Charles, Ill. Visitation will be at the funeral home, May 16 from 2-6 p.m. and at the church on May 17 from 11-11:55 a.m. Services
will be held at 12 noon on May 17 at Mt. Teamer CME Church, where he
was a member. Burial will be held in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev.

daughter, Gladystine Glover of Horn Lake; three sons, Lee Roy Glover

Jones of Olive Branch; four brothers, Jimmy Dale Glover, Willie Glover,
both of Holly Springs, Larry Glover of Jackson, Ira Glover of Horn
Lake; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Roy Lee Glover. Frances Kay Holbrook Frances Kay Holbrook, 61, of Ashland, died May 6, 2013. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a factory worker. Services
were held at 10 a.m. on May 8 at Ashland Baptist Church. Burial was in

Autry Hudspeth, 82, of Ashland, died May 8, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice
House in Tupelo. She was the widow of Joe Leslie Hudspeth and retired
from Farmers Home Administration. Services were
held at 11 a.m. on May 10 at Ashland Baptist Church, where she was a
member. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery. Dr. Gerald Hodges officiated.

Earl “Bone” Lay, 60, of Southaven, formerly of Holly Springs, died May
12, 2013, at Baptist Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. He was the widower
of Jeanette Rayford Lay and a disabled fork lift operator with Georgia
Pacific Plywood. Services will be held at 10 a.m.
on May 18 at Mt. Comfort CME Church in Waterford, where he was a
member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. George Rayford will

Jean Jones Martin, 94, of Holly Springs, died May 12, 2013, at her
home. She was the widow of Edgar Martin and a former member of the
Order of Eastern Star. Visitation will be at the
funeral home May 17 from 2-6 p.m. and at the church on May 18, 10-10:55
a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 18 at Strawberry MB
Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Samuel Mason, 66, of Holly Springs, died May 10, 2013, at Methodist
University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a Sunday school teacher
and member of the First Baptist Church of Holly Springs. Services were held at 2 p.m. on May 13 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. He
leaves his wife of 45 years, Helen Hurdle Mason; a daughter, Cammie
Mason Clifton (Barry); a sister, Linda Defer of New Albany; two
brothers, Larry Mason (Diane) of Ashland, Thurman Mason (Brenda) of

Lue Howery Raimey, 55, of Lamar, died May 5, 2013, at her home. She was
a member of New Life Christian Center in Ashland, where she was a
church usher, and manager at Federal Express in Memphis, Tenn. Services
were held at 12 noon on May 11 at Foundation of Life Christian Learning
Center in Lamar. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Ronnie

Memphis; four brothers, Lenton Howery of Joplin, Mo., Mark Howery of
Holly Springs, Sylvester Hampton, Morris Smith, both of Memphis; and
four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Delois Hampton and David Howery. Joseph Thomas Joseph
Thomas, 90, of Holly Springs, died April 30, 2013, at Baptist
Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. He was the widower of Arnetta Wilson
Thomas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a retired
factory worker. Services were held at 2 p.m. on
May 4 at Victoria Church of Christ, where he was a member. Burial was
in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn., on May 7. Bro.

Ceola Mitchell-Sigers of Brookside, Ala.; a brother, James Taylor of

Carline Tomlinson, 88, of Red Banks, died May 6, 2013, at her home. She
was the widow of Hubert Tomlinson and a maker of custom drapes. Services
were held at 2:30 p.m. on May 14 at Red Banks Baptist Church, where she
was a member. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Bro. Jonathan

daughters, Bonnie Jo Childress of Hemet, Calif, Robbie Creed Holland of

King Wilson Wells, 74, of Red Banks, died May 5, 2013, at Baptist Hospital-Collierville, Tenn. He was disabled. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on May 11 at Mt. Newell MB Church in Red Banks.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Arthur Fitzpatrick officiated.

friend, Clara Etta Hale of Red Banks. He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Norfleet.
