Obituaries Iristine Anderson
Iristine
Anderson, 72, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 4, 2013, at Baptist
Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. She was a former member of her church
choir. She was a retired domestic worker (Mark R. Miller family). Services
will be held at 12 noon on Jan. 10 at Anderson Chapel CME Church, where
she was a member. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev.
Denise Anders-Modest will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral
Home will be in charge of arrangements. She
leaves a daughter, Ramona Lynn Dobbs of Holly Springs; a son, Douglas
Michael Anderson of Holly Springs; her mother, Johnnie Mae Harper
Anderson of Holly Springs; a sister, MaDora Anderson of Holly Springs;
four brothers, Edward I. Anderson of Milwaukee, Wisc., Henry Anderson
Jr., George Anderson, both of Chicago, Ill., Eugene Anderson of Holly
Springs; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Dorothy Mae Hallgren Corey

Mae Hallgren Corey died Jan. 7, 2013, in Diamondhead. She was the widow
of Charles S. “Bud” Corey. They were married for 55 years. She moved to
Holly Springs with her husband to help open the new Wurlitzer plant.
They lived here 40 years. Services will be held
Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial
in Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until
service time. She leaves four sons, Charles
Corey, Mark Corey, Daniel Corey, Thomas Corey; two sisters, 10
grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Kathy Lynn Esmon Kathy Lynn Esmon, 54, of Lake Estates, died Jan. 6, 2013, at her home. Services
were held Jan. 9 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in
the Potts Camp Cemetery. Bro. Tony Monk, Bro. Terrell Stacks, Bro. Mark
Dowdy. She leaves sons, Tommy Lee Esmon II,
Ronnie Shane Esmon (Amanda), her mother, Ethelene Hulsey; brothers,
Scottie Rodgers, Steve Rodgers (Ellen), Johnny Gibbons (Deanna), Paul
Gibbons (Ann), Rud Hulsey (Janie), Richard Hulsey (Selina); a sister,

Fitzpatrick, 58, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 28, 2012, at Methodist
Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. He was a former employee of Carrier,
Inc., in Collierville, Tenn. Services were held
at 2 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Pleasant Hill CME Church in Mt. Pleasant, where
he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Equator Benton

of Red Banks; his mother, Annie Fitzpatrick of Mt. Pleasant; six
sisters, Maggie Roberts of Memphis, Tenn., Jackie Jones, Sandra
Fitzpatrick of Mt. Pleasant, Bonnie Hassell of Red Banks, Ericastine
Muhammad, JoAnn Norfleet, both of Memphis; six brothers, Ezell Evans,
Elbert Fitzpatrick, both of Memphis, Charles Fitzpatrick, Donald
Fitzpatrick, Sammie Moore, all of Mt. Pleasant, Johnny Martin Jr. of
Germantown; and one grandchild. George Veryl Gilliam
George Veryl Gilliam, 81, of Potts Camp, died Dec. 29, 2012. He was an Army veteran. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 31 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services were held at Cornersville Cemetery. He
leaves his children, Garry (Liz) Gilliam of Anchorage, Alaska, Beverly
(Charles) Pennington of Bowling Green, Ky., Sheila (Dan) Prior of
Bartlett, Tenn., Robin (Anthony) Henry of Cordova, Tenn.; his brother,
Arnold Gilliam of Blue Springs; 17 grandchildren and 22

Crum Jacks, 87, died Jan. 1, 2013, at Benton, Ark. She was the widow of
Marshall H. Jacks. She retired from Exxon Company, USA in Memphis,
Tenn., in 1982 as a senior office assistant, employee relations
department, after 21 years of service. She was a member of Bethel
Presbyterian Church in Olive Branch, where she served as a deacon and
Sunday school teacher and deacon greeter. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch. Burial was in Byhalia Cemetery. She
leaves a daughter, Yvette Atkeison (Glenn) of Benton, Ark.; two sons,
Tommy (Becky) and Bobby (Cathy) of Byhalia; a sister, Johnnie (Bob)
Starnes of Newport News, Va.; six grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers,

Dove Govan “Nanny” Kilpatrick, 96, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 31,
2012, at her home in Potts Camp. She was the widow of William H.
Kilpatrick, a member of the mother board, former president of the usher
board, Sunday school teacher and a choir secretary. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 4 at Rising Star MB Church in Holly
Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in Old Rising Star MB
Church Cemetery. Rev. Robert McClain officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She
leaves a daughter, Vernola Farrow-Shaw of Holly Springs; two
granddaughters, LaKesha Farrow, Monique Burton, both of Holly Springs;
and a great-granddaughter, Zayriah Farrow of Holly Springs. J eanette McGhee Baker Lacy Jeanette
McGhee Baker Lacy, 67, of Oakland, Tenn., died Dec. 24, 2012, at
Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. She was the retired owner of
Step In and Out Boutique and Hair Salon in Chicago, Ill. Services
were held at 12 noon on Dec. 29 at Fellowship COGIC in Collierville,
Tenn. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Moscow, Tenn. McGhee and Son
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She
leaves her father, James McGhee of Moscow, Tenn.; sisters Evelyn Jones
(Thomas) of Memphis, Tenn., Mozella Wright (Cleven) of Oakland, Carolyn
Cole (elder Clyde) of Southaven, Jeraldine Graham (pastor Willis) of
Atlanta, Ga., Annette McGhee, Sheila Rivers (Joel) of Moscow; and six
brothers, James (Lisa) of Chicago, Jewell (Renee) of Arlington, Tx.,
Robert (Mary), Fredrick (Sylvia), Logan (Sonya) of Moscow, Charles
(Christine) of Rossville, Tenn. She was preceded
in death by a son, Danie B. McGhee; three sisters, Arnita McGhee,
Jacqueline Payton, Margaret McGhee; and a brother, Leroy McGhee. Helen V. Miller Helen
V. Miller, 87, died Jan. 2, 2013, at Tippah County Hospital Nursing
Home in Ripley. She was the widow of Herman D. Miller. She was a
lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was retired from the
Ashland School System. Services were held at 2
p.m. on Jan. 5 at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Beech Hill
Church Cemetery. Minister Donnie DeBord and Cole Chapman officiated. She
leaves four sons, Tate Miller (Jayme) of Holly Springs, Phillip Miller
(Lisa), Stevie Miller (Wanda), Ken Miller (Regina), all of Ripley; six
daughters, Lynette Horton (Elbert) of Myrtle, Yvonne Gamblin of
Ashland, Rita Gaines (Jay) of Blue Springs, Betty Henry (Tommy), Kathy
Hill and Wendy Roberson (Jeff), all of Ripley; 16 grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and four
step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
four brothers, Homer, Hubert, L.G. and Shirley Graves; four sisters,
Della Moody, Virgie Ketchum, Amie Simpson and Hattie Palmer; a
great-grandson, Caleb Grant Smith; and one son-in-law, Shirley Gamblin. Pallbearers were grandsons Lynn Henry, Chad Smith, Bryan Miller, Craig Miller, Tyler Roberson and Michael Miller. Walter Robertson Jr.
Walter Robertson Jr., 83, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 6, 2013, at his home. He was a Baptist, an electrician and a USMC veteran. Graveside
services will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 10 at West Tennessee Veterans

leaves his wife, Lillie Robertson; two sons, Rickie Wade Robertson of

Ann Shelton, 87, of Byhalia, died Jan. 4, 2013, at her home. She was
the widow of James P. Shelton. She was a member of First Baptist Church

Mae Thompson, 90, of Byhalia, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Alliance. She was the widow of Alfred Thompson. Services
