Dewayne Brooks, 40, of
Holly Springs, died Dec. 29, 2007 at North Mississippi Medical Center
in Tupelo. He was disabled.
Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 5 at New Hope CME Church in Red Banks,
where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Robert
J. Mathews Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
He
leaves a son, Antoine
McNeil of Holly Springs; a sister, Sharon Brooks of Holly Springs and a
grandson, James McNeil of Holly Springs.
He
was preceded in death by his
mother, Mary Jane Batts Brooks and his father, Wayne Moore Brooks.

Faulkner, 67, of Chicago,
Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died Dec. 30, 2007 at his home. He was
a retired truck driver.
Services
were held at 11. a.m. on Jan. 5 at Smith Grove MB Church. Burial was in
the church cemetery. Elder Eddie Ashford officiated. J.F. Brittenum and
Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

leaves a daughter, Brenda Faulkner of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Kenneth
Faulkner and Sean Eason, both of Red Banks; six sisters, Clestine
Faulkner, Moristine Vaughn, both of Holly Springs, Minnie Harris,
Magnolia Smith, both of Chicago, Ill., Vaulia Mae Jeffries of Aurora,
Ill., Ellen Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Frank Faulkner Jr. of Los
Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ashland, died Jan. 2, 2008 at her home.

a member. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery. Bro. Randy Crews and Bro.

arrangements.

(Choc) Gresham; a son, Larry Akin Gresham and wife Teresa of Ashland;
two daughters, Diane Taylor of Ashland, Sondra Wilburn and husband
Randy of Ashland; six sisters, Norma A. Gresham of Ashland, Blanche A.
Walker of Memphis, Tenn., Carneil A. Meisel of Tupelo, Melba A. Walker
of Collierville, Tenn., Helen A. Stroupe of Ashland, Bobbie A. Ford of
Ripley; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by a
son, William T. Gresham Jr., who died in the line of duty during the
Vietnam War.

Demarcus Martin, 25, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died
Jan. 1, 2008 in Memphis. He was a graduate of Hernando High School,
attended Northwest Mississippi Community College, a member of
Strawberry MB Church and a truck driver with Apex Trucking Company.
Services
were held at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 at Doxey Auditorium Rust College.
Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Rev. Hester
Maxwell officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements.

N. MS in Oxford. She was the widow of Garry Morgan. She was a member of
the Church of the Nazarene.

Hill Cemetery.

E. Moore, 64, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 30, 2007 at his home. He was
retired from the Coors Brewing Company. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Holly Springs, a Marshall at the Cherokee Valley Golf
Course in Olive Branch and a U.S. Army veteran.

were held at 2 p.m. on
Jan. 3 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East chapel. Burial was in Forest
Hill Cemetery East.
He
leaves his wife of 23.5 years, Judy Moore; his daughter, Tiffany
Jeffries of Knoxville; two sons, David Shelley of Red Banks, Timothy
Shelley of Olive Branch; sisters, Bobbye Jordan of Lake Cormorant,
Peggy Wideman of Bartlett, Tenn., Diane Smith of Lakeland, Tenn.; three

Legessie
Randolph Naylor, 82, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 31, 2007 at Alliance
HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She was the widow of James Edward
Naylor. She was a member of Missionary Society, American Legion
Women’s
Auxiliary and Federated Women’s Club. She was a retired
teacher with
ICS Head Start after 25 years.
Services

at 11 a.m. on Jan. 4 at Anderson Chapel CME Church, where she was a
member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Denise Anders
Modest officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of

Michael Pitner
Michael
(Mike) Pitner, 78, of Myrtle, died Jan. 5, 2008 at Baptist Memorial
Hospital - Union County. He attended the University of Mississippi and
Blue Mountain College. He was an ordained Methodist minister. He was a
resident of Sunshine Inn in Myrtle.
Graveside
services were held at 3 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Candy Hill Cemetery in
Myrtle. Eldridge Fleming and Clair Dobbs officiated. Serenity Funeral
Home in New Albany was in charge of arrangements.

John Daniel Sheehy III
John
Daniel Sheehy III, 65, of Red Banks, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., died
Jan. 2, 2008. He was a master craftsman and a self-taught businessman.
A
memorial service was held at 7
p.m. on Jan. 9 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch.
He
leaves three sons, Johnny, Denny, Kenny Sheehy; two stepchildren, Lisa
Blalock, Glenn Harris; three sisters, Loretta Doles of Hornsby, Tenn.,
Barbara McMullen of Blairvill, Ga., Christina Du Puy of Cutler Bay,
Fla.; a brother, Denny Sheehy of Yellville, Ark.; his stepmother,
Dagmar Sheehy of Cutler Bay, Fla.; two stepsisters, Deanna Richtarcik
of Sebastian, Fla., Noel Whited of West Palm Beach, Fla.; four
grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

James C. Totten Jr.
James
C. Totten Jr., 49 of Atlanta, Ga., died in Moss Point on January 1,
2008. Jim was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology
and worked
for many years in the field of software engineering.
Graveside
services were Saturday,
January 5, at 2:30 p.m. at Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs.
He
is survived by his mother, Alice B. Totten, of Moss Point; and a
sister, Alice T. Stoudenmire of Hurley. He was the son of the late Dr.
James C. Totten. His maternal grandparents were the late Alice Hudson
Bell of Holly Springs, and the late Dr. Auryne E. Bell of Louisville,
Ken. His paternal grandparents were the late Theresa Seale Totten and
the late James Clinton Totten, Sr., both of Holly Springs.

a retired laborer with Watkins Sheppard Furniture Company.

(Kim) Williams, 30, of Michigan City, died Jan. 1, 2008 at The Regional
Medical Center in Memphis. She was a State of Tennessee correctional
officer at Whiteville State Prison.

held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 5 at Mt. Bethel MB Church in Michigan City,
where she was a member. Burial was in Mt. Bethel Cemetery. Serenity
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She
leaves her mother, Elma Williams of Michigan City; two sisters,
Stephaine Williams, Jessica Williams, both of Michigan City; and her
brother, Clinton Cheairs of Grand Junction, Tenn.
She
