Benefit brings crowd from all over
Mary Bea Green of Oxford was the weekend guest of Bea and Jimmye Dale Green. She participated in the Pilgrimage by serving in Hedge Farm, the home of John Loftin. She also attended the Queen’s Ball at Montrose Saturday night where she danced several dances with her uncle, Skipper Green.
I am more than humbled and beyond proud of our community for the outpouring of support shown Saturday for Ralph Doxey Jr. There was barely room to move at the VFW as the auction got underway. As the day progressed, crawfish were pulled out of the steaming pots, along with corn and new potatoes, and barbecue plates were served to the masses. People from all over showed up, people I had not seen in years. It shows how much everyone can help a friend in need. A big thank you to all who attended and especially for those who worked so hard to make the benefit a huge success. If ever there was a doubt about how generous and loving our locals are, it is now put to rest!
AnnYager McCrosky hosted Bea Tolsdorf and children, Caroline and Charlie, of Jackson, over the weekend. They attended the benefit for Ralph Doxey Jr., and participated in some fun weekend activities.
