Holly Springs officers investigate grand larceny Officers with the Holly Springs Police Department are investigating a grand larceny in the 100 block of Rust Avenue last week in which over $19,000 in computer and television equipment is missing, according to chief Robert Pearson. He said 12 Gateway laptop computers and one 27-inch television were missing from the building. In other police news, officers made three arrests last week, he said. Sharon Payne, 37, of Holly Springs, was arrested Tuesday, April 8 on an outstanding warrant charging the uttering of forgery, Pearson said. Two were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Andrew Campbell, 24, of Holly Springs was arrested Friday, April 11, on possession charges with intent to sell, he said. Sandra Kay Oliver, 36, of Memphis, Tenn., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance within a correctional facility, Pearson said. Officers responded to 65 activities for the week ending April 13 including: driving while license suspended (7); no driver’s license/expired license (9); no proof of insurance (21); expired tag/no tag (2); seatbelt violation (1); careless driving (1); reckless driving (1); DUI (1); driving without headlights (1); disregard for traffic device (2); passing a school bus (1); violation of dog ordinance (11); shoplifting (1); prostitution (3); simple assault domestic violence (2), and simple assault (1). Anyone having information regarding any crime committed in the Holly Springs/Marshall area is asked to contact the Holly Springs Police Department at 662-252-2122 or Marshall County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169. Callers do not have to give their name when providing information to these law authorities. The caller may be entitled to a reward of up to $1,000. |
