Rivals split
games on softball field

rivals Potts Camp and H.W. Byers split a pair of similar softball games
Tuesday afternoon of last week.
The
games weren’t close – a 20-3 win for the Lady Cardinals in game one and
a 17-2 victory for the Lady Indians in the nightcap.

Deep South Championship Rodeo was held at Marshall County Fairgrounds
Saturday, March 30. The rodeo was produced by J Bar B Rodeo Co. in

Killer Kudzu Run slated for Friday The 25th annual Killer Kudzu Run will be held during Pilgrimage weekend in historic Holly Springs for the fifth straight year. The 5K is set for Friday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m., starting and ending at historic Montrose on Salem Avenue. Registration begins at 4 p.m. The cost is $25. There will be T-shirts, door prizes and an awards ceremony, which will be held at Montrose. Runners
and spectators are encouraged to stay afterwards for the third annual
“Screen on the Green,” showing the Southern classic film “Fried Green
Tomatoes” after the race.
Lions fall to West Union By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The weather was cooperating mildly last Friday when the West Union Eagles invaded the Lions’ Den. The Eagles brought a record of 9-4 to pit against the 7-2 mark of H.W. Byers. Kyle
Skelton took the mound for the Lions to start things off. His first
batter was Tyler Whaley, who got a double on a field error. He sent the
next hitter back to the dugout. Skelton then loaded the bases with a
walk but he had two outs. A hit batter kept the bases full and walked
in a score. Skelton retired the next batter on a 3-2 pitch. Full Story

annual Aaron German Memorial Team Roping will be held Saturday, April
20, at Sonny Gould’s Arena, 1895 Poole Road, in Moscow, Tenn. Books open at 9 a.m. with roping at 10. Open is $25/man; #13, $25/man; #11, $25/man; and #9, $25/man. Full Story
Rodeo set for Saturday in Barton A Deep South Championship Rodeo will be held in Barton on Saturday, April 13.
