Leigh Douglas visits family
Leigh Douglas spent the weekend in Jackson with Stefanie and Charlie Douglas and children, Caroline Grace and Chandler.
Hank Wheeler of Newnan, Ga., spent the weekend with Kay and Laura Wheeler. He was here to take his granddaughter, Caitlyn, out to dinner for her birthday. They celebrated at the Bonefish Grill in Collierville, Tenn.
How exciting seeing activity on the north side of the square! Southern Eatery is almost ready for dining customers. Linda and Tom Stewart have worked for months to prepare the building to house their restaurant. They have transformed a dingy, poorly lit space into a thing of real beauty. It is warm and inviting with a family friendly atmosphere. Be looking, folks – it won’t be long now until you can partake in their Southern delicacies, which are abundant enough to tickle the palate of anyone.
Small towns are the best, as I always seem to mention. This weekend, I was reminded once again how grateful I am to call Holly Springs my home. Sunday, Caitlyn, along with two other teens, was in a car accident. She immediately called Grace Brownlee, as it happened near her home. She got there right after it happened. I arrived after the fire department and policemen. Nobody was seriously injured in the two-vehicle accident, but certainly could have been. The intersection of Hwy. 311 and Hwy. 7 is horrible. There needs to be a blinking light alerting drivers of the intersection or make it a four-way stop all the way. It would be catastrophic if someone died there before anything was done to make it a safer spot. Accidents happen there all the time. Hopefully someone will see to it that there is a flashing light installed there before something terrible happens.
