Pilgrimage weekend scheduled April 11-13
The 76th annual Holly Springs Pilgrimage is drawing near. The big event, which features a variety of activities, is set for April 11-13.
It is sponsored by the Holly Springs Garden Club.
The Pilgrimage will include a tour of antebellum homes, churches and Hill Crest Cemetery. Other activities include the Killer Kudzu 5K, Montrose Under the Moonlight, Screen on the Green, a Pilgrimage Lunch and much more.
The Pilgrimage will begin with a ribbon-cutting Friday, April 11, at 9:45 a.m. on the steps of Montrose.

Autism Walk set for April 12 at Rust
Zeta Phi Beta Youth Auxiliaries will sponsor “Autism Walk 2014” on Saturday, April 12.
It begins at 9 a.m. at the Rust College track.
Everyone is encouraged to walk and help raise funds to provide support, activities and services for families of those on the Autism spectrum.
County spring clean-up set to begin April 14
Spring clean-up begins Monday, April 14, and lasts for two weeks, according to county administrator Larry Hall.
Roll-off dumpsters will be located at community centers and other places around Marshall County for two weeks.
Only household items, such as old furniture and appliances, may be placed in the dumpsters.
No household garbage, limbs and leaves, or tires should be placed in the dumpsters and no toxic household or farm products.
Marshall Countians are urged to take advantage of this opportunity and to help keep the county clean.
Byhalia police officers respond to 33 calls
The Byhalia Police Department responded to 33 calls during the past week.
Chief Gary Looney released the following report – miscellaneous, 6; escorts, 8; disturbances, 1; animals, 1; motor vehicle accidents, 1; fires, 1; damaged property, 2; burglaries, 1; medical, 9; alarm calls, 3.
Byhalia police officers also made four arrests during the past week, according to Chief Looney.
