Holly Springs officers
make burglary, assault arrests
Holly
Springs officers, responding to a breaking and entering of an occupied
home in the 100 block of Hopewell Drive, arrested two black males,
according to chief Robert Pearson.
The
victim
said she was awakened around 11:25 p.m. on March 27 to the sound of a
window being raised, he said. She saw two black males wearing ski masks
inside the residence, both with guns demanding money.
Kendrick
Hester, 35, and Michael Greer, 27, of Holly Springs were arrested and
charged with burglary and aggravated assault, Pearson said.
Officers
made two arrests in separate
incidents on outstanding warrants last week.
Dexter
L. Tipler, 23, of Ashland was
arrested March 27 on a warrant charging burglary of an automobile.
Herman
Bernard Woods, 42, of Holly
Springs, was arrested March 29 on an outstanding warrant charging
strong armed robbery.
Officers
answered a burglary alarm call around 12:54 a.m. in the 300 block of
East Van Dorn and found the building had been entered through the
basement window. The cash register was damaged but nothing was reported
missing.
Officers
responded to the following
activities for the week ending March 31, including: driving while
license suspended (2); no driver’s license/expired license (1);
careless driving (1); improper passing (1); improper equipment (1);
violation of dog ordinance (2); simple assault/domestic violence (3);
trespassing (1); malicious mischief (1); disorderly conduct (3);
shoplifting (1); resisting arrest (1); and DUI (1).

having information regarding any crime in the Holly Springs/Marshall

to leave their name when providing tips and may be entitled to a reward
of up to $1,000.
Beauty and The Beast
Thursday, Friday at Marshall
Disney’s “Beauty and The Beast” will be presented Thursday and Friday,
April 3 and 4, at Marshall Academy.
The
musical will begin at 7 p.m. each night. Admission is $5. “Beauty and
The Beast” will feature the MA Patriot Performers and MA elementary
students.
Blue ribbons go up for
Child Abuse Prevention
The
Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce painted the square blue Monday for
National Child Abuse Prevention Month. See next week’s South Reporter
for more on the blue ribbons all around town.
