Obituaries Ernestine Hoggs Bean
Ernestine
Hoggs Bean, 75, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs and
Chicago, Ill., died March 15, 2013, at The Highlands of Memphis Care
Home. She was a member of the church mother board. She was a retired
supervisor of housekeeping at Executive House of Chicago. Services
will be held at 11 a.m. on March 23 at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church in
Hudsonville, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church
cemetery. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She
leaves her husband, William R. Bean; two daughters, Mary Lynn Boyd of
University Park, Ill., Janice Buckner of Chicago; two sons, Carnell W.
Hoggs of Holly Springs, Kenneth Bean of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepson,
Willie Bean of Lamar; three sisters, Madie L. Sanders of Memphis,
Lyristine Conaway of Indianapolis, Ind., Girtha Hoggs of Holly Springs;
a brother, William L. Hoggs of Indianapolis; 22 grandchildren and 32
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Hoggs Jr. Mary Earle Bramlett Mary
Earle Bramlett, 85, of Oxford, died March 22, 2013, at her daughter’s
home in Shelbyville, Tenn. She was the widow of Dr. Julian C. Bramlett,
her husband of 31 years. She was a native of Holly Springs. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford. Graveside
services will be held at 11 a.m. on March 30 at the Oxford Memorial
Cemetery. Doak-Howell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. She
leaves two daughters, Brenda Bramlett of Shelbyville, Bonnie (Dan)
Hasson of Easley, S.C.; two sons, Chandler (Teresa) Bramlett of Nesbit,
Robert (Michelle) Bramlett of Southaven; 11 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Aileen Nelson; brothers Bert, Charles and Robert Bonds. Dorothy Louise Brewer Dorothy Louise Brewer, 77, of Victoria, died March 18, 2013, at her home. She was Pentecostal. Services were held at 1 p.m. on March 21 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch. She
leaves her husband, Alvin Brewer; five sons, William Humble of
Victoria, Fairley Humble of Watson, Jerry Humble, Randy Humble, Danny
Humble, all of Victoria; a daughter, Brenda Humble of Victoria; three
brothers, R.L. Burnett of Victoria, Junior Burnett of Cayce, Donald
Burnett of Ashland; three sisters, Martha Cook, Daphine Humble, both of
Myrtle, Inez Owen of Millington, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren and 22

Robert “Bill” Cromwell, 75, of Holly Springs, died March 21, 2013, at
his home. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954 and after his service in
the Navy, he attended police academy and worked as a police officer in
a number of cities. He retired as a truck driver with Big M
Transportation in Blue Mountain. Local services
are not being held. His remains have been returned to his home town,
Grand Rapids, Mich. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of local
arrangements. He leaves his wife, Brenda Jones
Cromwell; a son, Mike (Maureen) Cromwell of Grand Rapids; three
stepchildren, Jeffrey Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Shannon Jones of Holly
Springs, Chernelle Jones of Hickory Flat; and three grandchildren. Joe Ann Farley Joe
Ann Farley, 78, of Byhalia, died March 22, 2013, at Baptist
Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. She was the widow of James Robert Farley.
She was bookkeeper of Southern Brick and Tile, owner of Byhalia LP Gas
Co. and member of the Red Hat Society. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on March 25 at Emory Independent Methodist Church,
where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Leon

arrangements. She leaves two sons, Timothy Joseph
Farley (Vicki) of Mt. Laurel, N.J., Robert Edward Farley (Deles) of

Wade Carl Jones, 52, died March 8, 2013 at the home of his sister. Services

Faye Lollar, 79, of Hickory Flat, died March 21, 2013, at New Albany
Hospital. She was a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church, a
laborer with Denton Mills factory and a retired cook and nanny. Services
were held at 4 p.m. on March 23 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.

leaves her husband of 63 years, Robert E. Lollar; three daughters,

Brown Mills, 87, of Byhalia, died March 25, 2013, at Baptist
Hospital-East in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of First Baptist

Nicholson, 81, of Hickory Flat, died March 23, 2013, at Graceland
Nursing Home in New Albany. He was an auto mechanic and a U.S. Army
veteran of Korea. Services were held at 2 p.m. on
March 25 at Flat Rock Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial was
in Bethel Cemetery in Hickory Flat. Bro. Randy Buse and Bro. Gary Yates

Finley Shaw, 75, of Holly Springs, formerly of Aurora, Ill., died March
23, 2013, at her home. The widow of Morris Shaw Jr., she was a member
of the mother board, usher board, Mississippi Homemakers Volunteer,
Inc., Mississippi State University Extension Service, secretary MHVC
Club of Chulahoma, and retired sales clerk with K-Mart in Aurora. Services
will be held at 2 p.m. on March 30 at Smith Grove MB Church, where she
was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. W.C. Conner

Columbus, Ohio, Alma Echols, Vera Moffitt, both of Memphis, Ollie Mae
Finley Gipson of Holly Springs; a brother, Johnny Finley of Chicago,
Ill.; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Bobby Lynn Day Bobby Lynn Day, 66, of Hernando, died March 23, 2013. He was a self-employed carpenter. Services were held at 7 p.m. on March 26 at the VFW in Hernando. Rodgers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves his wife, Mildred Day; a son, Dusty Day of Corinth; a daughter,
Sherry Day of Corinth; a sister, Glenda Allen of Byhalia; five
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
