MDES launches new website The Mississippi Department of Employment Security announces the launch of its new website. It was built using newer technology that allows the agency to better meet the needs of its users. Individuals
can use the website to search for jobs, find training opportunities,
access job hunting tips and file for unemployment benefits. Business
users can register their businesses online, post jobs, find information
about tax credits or training credits and manage their Unemployment
Insurance Tax accounts. According to Mark Henry,
MDES executive director, “Our new site offers a cleaner, more
user-friendly way for our customers to access our programs and
services. We worked hard to remove the government jargon from the site
and make it easier for our customers to understand.” “I
applaud MDES for launching its new website that is more user-friendly,
transparent and easier to navigate for Mississippians to use,” said
Governor Phil Bryant. The website includes links
to the agency’s social media sites and displays announcements from its
Twitter feed on the home page. MDES uses Facebook and Twitter to
connect with customers about available jobs or announcements. The new website is available at mdes.ms.gov. Byhalia police officers respond to 34 calls The Byhalia Police Department responded to 34 calls last week. Chief
