young group of Byhalia Indians turned up the defensive pressure and got
a win over Bruce Saturday in the “O” Town Showdown at Oxford. Coach Todd Hutchinson played one senior, five sophomores and two freshmen in the 66-49 win over the Trojans. Full Story

Center Hill hands MA first loss By BARRY BURLESON Editor The
Marshall Academy Patriots lost their first game of the season just
before Christmas – a one-point loss to a 5A public school. The
Pats, ranked number one in Class AA among the private schools, battled
back from a 12-point halftime hole but fell 77-76 at home to Center

Marshall Academy Patriots took two of three in the Immanuel Christian
School Tournament last week, the lone loss being to highly-ranked
public school Aberdeen. MA clobbered Greenville St. Joe and Old Dominion before falling to the Bulldogs, ranked fourth in Class 3A in the state. Full Story

scrappy H.W. Byers Lady Lions couldn’t overcome the tall Gulfport Lady
Admirals December 22 in the New Site Lady Royal Rumble. The 1A team

Holly High teams fall to Coldwater By BARRY BURLESON Editor Holly Springs basketball teams lost a pair by double digits at Coldwater on December 22. The Lady Hawks, coming off their first two wins of the season, dropped a 57-37 decision to the Lady Cougars. Full Story
H.W. Byers Lions drop two By BARRY BURLESON Editor The H.W. Byers Lions fell to Westwood (Tenn.) and Clarksdale in the Coldwater Shootout. Byers dropped a one-point contest, 61-60, to Westwood Thursday. Full Story
Baseball camp begins February 3 H.W. Byers
High School is hosting a six-week baseball camp starting February 3.
Byers head coach Arthur Sellers will direct the program in conjunction
with U.S. Baseball Academy. Classes are
available for players in grades 1-12 and are limited to six players per
coach. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching, catching,
fielding and base-running. Proceeds from the program benefit amateur
baseball in Holly Springs. Space is limited. Registration is now
