Wrapping up holidays
It was a different sort of Christmas for the Burlesons, but it was indeed another good one.
The biggest change was that Santa did not come to the house for a visit prior to the big day. Erin, our youngest was 10 (at Christmas). She turned 11 Tuesday, on New Year’s Day.

No fever, so I’m freezing
Now that the fever is gone, I can’t get warm. Seems like an odd thing to complain about, but after the bout with bronchitis that Pop and I are wrestling with, anything is worth complaining about. That’s all he and I have done the past few weeks.
Of course, I’m sicker than he is! Which is one of the many reasons I wish he’d quit complaining. I need to be complaining myself, instead of listening to him! After all, I’ve been sick since Thanksgiving. He’s only been sick since I gave it to him.
Congress can build on bipartisan cooperation
The end of the year comes with reflections and resolutions, as we look back on 2012 and ahead to the future. Boosting economic growth and putting Americans back to work remain urgent priorities. At the same time, uncertainty and gridlock in Washington must not stand in the way of the recovery our country needs.
