NBA All star weekend recap

After the National Football League wrapped up another successful season, it was the National Basketball Association’s turn to take center stage as the season is now in the back half of the schedule. With so much star power in the league, NBA All- Star weekend is undoubtedly the greatest all-star game in professional sports.

This year, the Indiana Pacers hosted this past weekend’s festivities. The City of Indianapolis, Indiana, was picked to host ASW 24 for the first time in 38 years. The annual celebrity game and rising stars challenge kicked off last Friday night. The league and its fans always look forward to the festivities of Saturday night. The NBA skills challenge is always interesting as the NBA decided to change up some of the challenges this year. Ironically, the Indiana Pacers skills team would take the crown in the event of dominating the first-round draft.

The NBA three-point shootout is an automatic win for Damian Lillard with the Milwaukee Bucks or Steph Curry with the Golden State Warriors. Lillard repeated his championship last year, stealing the show, scoring 26, including hitting the last shot to edge Atlanta Hawks star guard Trae Young.

The NBA dunk contest is always the nightcap. Still, recently, fans have lost interest in the event, leaving the NBA scrambling for new ways to make the event popular again, even if it means getting All-Star Jaylen Brown to attempt one of his dunks on streamer Kai Cenat. Mac McClung repeated as champion because it simply didn’t take much to win it all this year.

Finally, a week after the Super Bowl, the All-Star game began. The game went back to the original East vs. West, giving fans what had hoped to be a classic battle between NBA legends and future stars. But the lack of defense led the East to a 211-186 victory over the West.

Damian Lillard had a spectacular weekend, ending it as the Most Valuable Player.

The biggest question bouncing around after the All- Star Weekend is whether the players will be paid in the future for the game. It is said that a few selected players would want to be paid.

The biggest question from All-Star Weekend, which reports surfaced immediately after the game, was that a few select players would want to be paid in the future to play in the game.
