Marshall Academy sweeps Byers

Marshall Academy basketball teams wrapped up the regular season last week with a sweep of intra-county foe H.W. Byers.
The MA boys built a 16-point lead in the first half at home but had to fend off a late charge to beat the Lions 71-65. Their victory avenged a two-point loss to Byers earlier in the season.
Late in the first quarter the Patriots got consecutive threes by Drayton Potts, Jacob Gadd and Peyton Taylor to go up 19-6. The lead was 23-12 at the end of the period.
