Marshall Academy Patriots dominated tournament performance on the Gulf Coast during Spring Break.

Marshall Academy Patriots staying red hot

The Marshall Academy Patriots are letting it be known that whoever comes to play them will not be easy.

The Patriots continue to dominate on the diamond despite the ups and downs this season that have been thrown their way.

One of the biggest challenges and heartbreaking news was losing a teammate, #8 Cutter Crass, to an automobile accident on Friday, March 8.

Coach Dustin Skelton said the Patriots look to keep rolling after a dominating tournament performance on the Gulf Coast.

The Marshall Academy - Home of the Patriots Facebook page said the Patriots returned as winners. The first three games were won either by eight runs or with eight total runs in memory of Crass. The last game of the tournament was the 8th consecutive win.

Skelton said his message to his club is to lean on one another and play together throughout the season.

“The guys have done well,” Skelton said. “They are playing together and rallying around each other to put the best product on the field. I feel like they are leaning on one another to have quality at bats to get the next guy up. The team has responded in a positive manner as we take the grief day by day.”
