Cardinals crowned 3-1A district champs

The Potts Camp Cardinals secured a huge boost by securing home-court advantage throughout the 2024 MHSAA state playoffs, where they’ll host the first two rounds (if necessary) at home.

The Cardinals defeated Coffeeville High School with a final score of 72-66 to win their district championship.

Potts Camp coach Allen Ball didn’t want to speak too much about his team’s recent success and get ahead of themselves because his guys still have work to do.

“We’re going to take it one game at a time. We have a lot of experience on this team and guys who have been here before. Now, it’s all about execution and competing nonstop to get wins,” he said.

The Cardinals will host Tupelo Christian High School in round one Tuesday, Feb. 13.
