Local superstar, Amanda Barnett, set her goals high when she left Holly Springs for the wiles of Colorado. Going so far from home without knowing a soul would be daunting for anyone, but not this spitfire! She took Denver on by storm and thrived unlike any other.

Barnett enrolled in the University of Denver following her senior year at Marshall Academy. She put her head in the books and worked relentlessly to acquire her degree. In a mere three years, she accomplished what most adults would never even contemplate, much less try.

Saturday, Barnett graduated from the University of Denver with her degree in Psychology and triple (three for those who may not know) minoring in Gender and Women’s Studies, Criminology and Media, Film and Journalism Studies. Talk about impressive.

There is no telling where she will wind up, as adventure is in her blood, but wherever it is, they will be lucky to have her. If she is in town and you run into her, be sure to give her big congratulations. She is a shining star and represents Holly Springs and Marshall County well.
