Dorothy Warren honored on 95th birthday

Hot Dot Dorothy Warren just turned 95 years young! Alexis Warren Williams of Ocean Springs and Susan Warren Holley hosted a beautiful birthday lunch at Southern Eatery on the historic square Friday. Guests included Sally Permenter, Mary Cates Williams, Sue Hardy, Doris Avent, Doris Cochran, Eleanor Lee Tomlinson, Joann Boatwright, Ann Carpenter, Carol Robison, Marianne Schadrach, Marianne Mard, Judy Barron, Michelle Stuber, Mary Bobb, Pat Stubbs, Bea Green and Becky Cupp. Margie Farese, Marie McClatchy, Stacey Pace, Laura Permenter and Ellen Stegall were also invited, but were unable to attend the festivities. Here’s to many more for a wonderful pillar of our community!

John Lawson McMinn, son of Erin and Jacob McMinn, celebrated his 2nd birthday over the weekend.

Charlie Douglas and daughter, Caroline Grace, of Jackson were the Saturday night guests of his mother, Leigh Douglas. While here, they went to Collierville, Tenn., and dined at Firebirds for an early birthday dinner honoring Caroline Grace. She celebrated her birthday on Valentine's Day.

Mrs. Walker H. Hurdle Jr. has returned from a trip to New Orleans and Mandeville, La., visiting her grandson, Walker Enzel.

Congratulations to both Marshall Academy Patriots basketball teams. They both won their district tournament at home Saturday. The teams will start their journey for state this week in the north half tournament held at Delta Academy in Marks. Good luck to both teams!
