Robert Travis Hughes

Robert Travis Hughes, 73, of Holly Springs, died March 14, 2024, in Byhalia. He was a member of Providence MB Church and retired from the Civil Service for the U.S. Government. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on March 22 from 3:30-6 p.m. and on March 23 at St. Matthews MB Church in Byhalia from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Pastor Gregory Hughes will officiate. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

He leaves a son, T. Chong Hughes of El Paso, Texas; daughter, Nakisha Alexander of NC; sisters, Lillie Spight, Cora L. Jones, both of Byhalia, Bunnie McGee of Rose Hill, Johnnie Ingram, Deborah Scales, both of Holly Springs, Veanna Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Fred Walter Hughes of Cleveland, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Tommy Hughes, David Hughes, William Hughes, Eddie Hughes, Jessie Hughes, Larry Hughes, Leroy Hughes, and baby Vincent Hughes.
