John Lucas "Luke" Loftin

John Lucas "Luke" Loftin, 92, of Mount Pleasant, died October 16, 2023, at Reynolds Hospice House. He was a farmer and an owner of J.C. Hurdle Store. He was a long-time member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and a United States Air Force veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Hinton Loftin and Annie Person Loftin, and his ten siblings. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lesley Karr Loftin, of Mount Pleasant; his son, John Lucas Loftin Jr. (John Carroll), of Provincetown, Mass.; a daughter, Lesley "Sally" Loftin Sigman, of Mount Pleasant; a granddaughter, Margaret "Maggie" Loftin Foley (Chandler); and a great-grandson, Chris Foley, also of Mount Pleasant.

Graveside services were held on October 19, 2023 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
