Move Marshall Campaign Takes Center Stage

In a bid to revolutionize the future of Marshall County, Superintendent Carrie Skelton, in collaboration with the Marshall County School District and the MCSD Community Engagement Council (Lift Marshall) has introduced the visionary Move Marshall Campaign.

This campaign is a compelling call to action for every member of the community, including residents, business owners, students, and families. The shared aspiration is clear – to propel Marshall County forward and pave the way for a remarkable future.

Lift Marshall, an essential collaborator in this transformative initiative and a community engagement council mandated by the state, emerges as a fresh catalyst for fostering unity within the community.

“Myself and other district leaders had been trying to develop a campaign that promotes positivity for the Marshall County School District,” Skelton said. “Under federal guidelines, we were required to start a community engagement council for our school district. We took the concept of creating a campaign that would get the community behind us by promoting positive events and accomplishments within the school district.”

Comprising local stakeholders, business owners, MCSD students, and parents, the Lift Marshall officers, are president Willard R. Brown III, vice president Carson Dean, and secretary Angela “Gae” Campbell. They are dedicated to building a stronger community. Together with Superintendent Skelton and the school district, Lift Marshall forms the steadfast foundation of support for the Move Marshall Campaign.

“Mr. Willard Brown and Mrs. Angela Campbell worked on the idea and created the ‘Move Marshall’ slogan. One community, one mission, move forward,” Skelton said.

This groundbreaking initiative represents the first phase of a three-part strategy aimed at assisting the Marshall County School District in reaching unprecedented levels of success. With the inauguration of the new Vocational Center, the MCSD is on the brink of ushering in a wave of success like never before.

“We want this to be more than just a slogan, but a movement for not only the schools, but all of Marshall County,” Skelton said. “We are growing in this county, and we want to tie that growth to positivity for the school district, business, families, and communities. The school district uses a hashtag for the slogan in all positive social media posts, etc. to continue to grow our audience, and let everyone know we have to work together in order to create a positive culture for school and community.”

The Move Marshall Campaign transcends the mere concept of change; it’s a deliberate effort to guide the entire community towards a future teaming with opportunities and triumphs.

“We are very proud of the campaign, and we can’t thank Mr. Brown and Mrs. Campbell, along with the other members of our Marshall County Schools Community Engagement Council, enough for all the hard work they have put and will continue to put into building this Move Marshall mindset,” Skelton said.

Residents are invited to join hands with their fellow Marshall County neighbors in embarking on a journey to redefine the collective destiny of the community. This is an opportunity to unite under the banner of Move Marshall, collaboratively shaping an extraordinary tomorrow for everyone. The future of Marshall County commences with the collective efforts the residents of the county.

“It truly takes a village to make a change, and if we can get everyone on board to work with us to make this county prosper, it will improve not only the school district, but towns and communities throughout the Marshall County School District,” Skelton said.
