Members of the Isaac Chapel Road community are seeking registration of the old Isaac Chapel School as an historic landmark so the building can be restored by grants from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.
The research committee is gathering information to document the school’s history.
District 4 supervisor George Zinn III recently presented the request to the board of supervisors. He said the building is believed to be the last standing Rosenwald School in the county.
