• Spiritual conference Mt. Comfort CME Church will have their sixth annual spiritual conference for women on Fri., May 9, 7 p.m. Speakers will be Dr. Lorann Robinson of Memphis, Tenn., Corrine Crittle and Shelia Fiddis of Holly Springs. There will also be a session for teens.

• Mother’s day bake sale, Fri., May 9, 8 a.m. at Century 21 office on the courthouse square in Holly Springs. Sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Saturday

• Boating Safety Class will be held at the Marshall County Fairgrounds, 8 a.m. until. Contact 662-563-6330 to register for class. Bring your Social Security number.

• Singing New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy. 72, Slayden, will be having a singing Saturday night, May 10, starting at 7 p.m. Featured group will be the Barnetts from Stanton, Tenn. Bro. Billy Adair and congregation invite everyone to attend. Fellowship supper after singing.

• Mother-Daughter Brunch St. Paul M.B. Church presents first annual Mother-Daughter Brunch, 11 a.m. at the Outreach Center in Byhalia. Tickets are $10 for adults, 12 years and under, $5. Sponsors are Sis. Paula Bronson and Sis. Mozella Webb. Pastor is Rev. Andrew Cheairs.

• Fish supper Potts Camp/Bethlehem Fire Department will have a fish supper at the Bethlehem Fire Station, 5-7 p.m. $10.50 per plate. Sheriff Kenny Dickerson will be cooking with all proceeds to benefit fire departments.

• Singing Emmanuel Baptist Church on Red Banks Road will have a gospel singing with Reaching Out as the featured guests. Fellowship supper will be at 5 p.m., singing at 6 p.m. Bro. Don and congregation invite all.

• Pancake, Waffle and Wings Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the CYF youth department, Anderson Chapel CME Church, Sat., May 10, from 9-11 a.m. All youth are encouraged to attend. Pastor Denise Anders Modest.

• Mother’s Day singing Sat., May 10, 2 p.m., sponsored by the family council of Trinity Mission Health and Rehab, Holly Springs, honoring all mothers who are patients at the facility. The Charles Thomas family, the Heavenly Voices, both of Holly Springs, and the Southernaires of Potts Camp will be guests. Everyone is invited.

• Book week The Holly Springs Primary School will celebrate Children’s Book Week by hosting a Buy One Get One Free Book Fair May 12 - 16 from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Buy one book at regular price, get a second book of equal or lesser value free! Stock up for summer reading! Say thank you to your teacher for a great year by purchasing a book for her classroom from her wish list.

May 14

• Benefit for the Elliott family of Cuba St., Sat., May 17, 3-7:30 p.m. Fish fry with all the trimmings. Eat in or carry out. Marshall County Fairgrounds, 1569 Hwy. 7 North, Holly Springs. • SINGING Clear Creek Baptist Church will host a gospel singing with featured guests Tracemen Quartet. Fellowship at 6 p.m. and singing at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.

May 18

• Friends’ Night musical, with the Twilight Singers, Sun., May 18, 6:30 p.m., at the Baptist Seminary, Cuba St. Tickets available at the door. Many groups on program. Everyone is invited to come and take part.

• Harvest Time at Apostolic Church welcomes you to a cookout at the Olive Branch Park. Free food. Gospel singing and music. All singers and musicians welcome. Rev. Carl Waldrop is the pastor.

• Anniversary The Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant, will be having their annual church anniversary program at 3 p.m. The special guests will be superintendent Albert Pass and the Christ Temple COGIC of Holly Springs. Curtis Pritchard, pastor, invites everyone.

• Homecoming, Macedonia CME Church, Sun., May 18, 2 p.m. Guest speaker, Rev. Harvey Garrison of Christ New Beginning Church. Food will be served afterwards.

• Lay program The department of Lay Ministries of Yarbrough Chapel Church will present a 100 Men and Women in Black of the Ten Commandments program, 2 p.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Charlton Johnson of Mt. Comfort CME Church. Rev. Jerry Christian Jr. is pastor and sponsors are Robert Pool and David Crawford.

June 22

• Friend’s Day Chewalla Assembly of God will be having “Dinner on the Grounds and All Day Singing.” We invite all our friends to come and be with us. Special singer will be Megan Tate.

July 4th

• Reunion The Byhalia High School classes of 1976, 1978 and 1979 are having a combined class reunion on July 4-6, 2008. The events will be held at the Byhalia High School gym.
