Meat Loaf, Barbecue Style
1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce
together beef, crumbs, onion, beaten egg, salt, pepper and 1/2 can of
tomato sauce. Form into loaf and put in shallow pan. Combine the rest
of the sauce and other ingredients. Pour over loaf and bake at 350° for
an hour. Baste occasionally. Serves 4-6.
Betty’s Quick Corn Pudding
1 large can cream-style corn
7 Ritz crackers, crushed
Drain whole kernel corn. Mix all ingredients together in casserole dish and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

Trinity Mission opens new facility
What once was Holly Springs Health and Rehab became Trinity Mission Monday when a parade moved residents a short distance on Hwy. 4 East to a beautiful, new and expanded facility. The parade included a city fire truck, a horse and carriage and police escort. Vernon Stroupe drove Frank Swords’ horse-drawn carriage filled with residents and attendants.
Ten years of ministry
Rev. Dr. and Mrs. R.J. Wilson are celebrating 10 years of ministry at Mt. Moriah MB Church. A celebration will be held Sunday with Rev. John Booker of Chulahoma MB Church as guest speaker.

Carlisle grand re-opening
Carlisle’s Big Star held a grand reopening of its new and expanded store last Wed. Mayor John Dabney Brown cut the ribbon. Many local dignitaries and out-of-town suppliers were on hand for the celebration.
Dwain Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Jones II of Byhalia and brother of Ventz Jones, is a senior music major at Grambling State University. The band is on tour in Japan and will make a stop in Anchorage, Alaska.
50 Years Ago - December 5, 1963
W.B. Foster receives master’s
Wilfred Butler Foster completed the requirements for the master of education degree in adminstration and supervision Nov. 22 at Tennessee A and I University in Nashville, Tenn. He received his elementary education from Rosenwald (now Sims), was graduated from the high school department at Rust College and attended Mississippi Industrial College.
