Shelby Fitch, Emma Elgin, Lori Simpson rush at Ole Miss
Congratulations to our local girls who went through rush at Ole Miss last week! Each house is lucky to have acquired such wonderful young ladies - Kappa Kappa Gamma, Shelby Fitch; Delta Gamma, Emma Elgin; and Phi Mu, Lori Simpson.
Once again the Marshall Academy Patriots delivered Friday night in Batesville. Although North Delta is no longer in their conference, they fought hard to win the battle. It appeared the first quarter that it would be a war, as North Delta answered each time Marshall scored. However, their failed attempts at point-afters left the Patriots ahead with under three minutes left in the fourth quarter. Deja vu set in, as the Green Waves were given numerous tries at a point-after attempt due to penalties against the Patriots. Once the ball went soaring through the uprights, the Patriots had one last go at cinching the win without going into overtime. Quarterback Dakota Dailey moved the ball into field goal range. Kicker Christian Compton delivered once again, putting the Patriots up by three. It was so reminiscent of last year’s North Half battle on that same field with Roy Billions saving the day. The Patriots are at home this week with a game against Benton Academy. Come out and watch these boys in action – they are delivering what is expected of them time and time again!
