Staying on the sideline
I almost gave in to the dryness of the press box.
But I just couldn’t. It’s just not my style.
As the steady and sometimes heavy rains moved in Friday, we were down to a pair of football games – Marshall Academy at West Memphis Christian and H.W. Byers at Independence.

Insomnia, itching and books
• Does itching cause insomnia? Does insomnia make you itch?
Both of them work for me recently.
I’ve always “suffered” from insomnia. I remember being fussed at by my mother even as a child because my lamp would be on and I’d be reading a book at 3 a.m. Needless to say, I didn’t have a Kindle then, so Mama always saw my light.

In less than a week, the President’s controversial health-care law will face a major test– meeting the open enrollment start date for its insurance “exchanges.” These state-based exchanges are where many Americans will be forced to buy a government-mandated health-care plan.
