Perhaps the best thing about life is the friendships we build along the way.
This past weekend, for the Burlesons, was all about some special friendships.

Vet is dog’s best friend
When we moved to the wilds of Mississippi from the city streets of Memphis, Tenn., we naturally brought our dog with us.
Nock, so named because the blaze on her head looked exactly like the nock (feathery tuft on end) of an arrow, was our daughter’s best friend. A beautiful beagle, she was the epitome of beagles. At that point in time, beagles were about the only breed of dog we’d ever owned.

Used oil dumping
Here are photos (above) I took of the used oil dumping that occurred about two miles south of the Mississippi Central Railroad track crossing on Old Hudsonville Road.
A little over a week ago, someone apparently intentionally dumped used oil, from what was likely a tanker truck (given the estimated 500 gallons that were dumped). The oil was allowed to drain from the truck while it was moving. The dumping occurred for approximately 1.1 miles on the west side of the road.
