Holly Springs man has been arrested and charged with possession of
child pornography, Attorney General Jim Hood announced on Thursday of
last week. Rio Jemon Jeffries, age 23, of Holly
Springs, was arrested at his residence February 22 by investigators of
the Attorney General’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children Task
Force with assistance from the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and
the Holly Springs Police Department. Jeffries was booked into the Marshall County jail and charged with one count possession of child pornography. If convicted, he faces between five and 40 years behind bars. The case will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Brandon Ogburn of the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit. As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. County school board will meet March 6 The
Marshall County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, March 6, at 4:30
p.m. in the board room of the Marshall County Board of Supervisors. The location of the meeting is 103 B North Market Street, Holly Springs. Annual job fair set for Mar. 8 in Holly Springs The
annual Marshall-Benton Area Job Fair will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at
the Rust College McMillan Gymnasium on Thursday, March 8. Job seekers are encouraged to attend the fair and visit with as many prospective employers as possible. Dress is casual. Children should be left at home with a sitter. Prospective
hires are encouraged to bring a typed resume, but by no means is that a
requirement. Employers will provide information on their businesses,
job openings, job requirements and salaries. On
the day of the fair, prospective hires are encouraged to ask for help
while looking at possible new job opportunities. Volunteers from the
chambers of commerce, job fair committee, and Rust College will do
everything possible to assist a job seeker and prospective employers to
make it a successful and happy event for all. The job fair is sponsored by the Governor’s Job Fair Network in Mississippi.
