School District Parent Center, serving grades 3-12 located on the
Intermediate School campus, will offer a 30- minute training session on
ways you can help your child with reading. This training will be held
on Thursday, February 23, at 12 noon in the Parent Center. Light
refreshments will be served. Parents, if you babysit during the day you
are welcome to bring the babies with you. Holly
Springs Intermediate School is having their annual Pennies for Patients
fund-raiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by collecting money
starting Thursday, February 16- March 9. Please help our students
help others. Holly Springs Intermediate School is
inviting all community businesses, public officials, retired teachers,
parents, grandparents, and authors to attend Read Across America Day on
March 2, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. We are asking that a
representative from your business support our efforts to promote the
love of reading to our students. Please come
read a book to a class. We will have plenty of food and a supply of
books for you to choose from. You can bring your favorite book, also. We
thank you in advance for your support and participation with our

Receives degree Tony Foster from Holly Springs was awarded de-grees during Delta State University’s 2011 fall commencement.
Who’s Who Northwest Mississippi Community
College recently announced its 2012 Who’s Who Among Students in
American Universities and Colleges. This prestigious organization
exists as one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors
programs in the nation. Individual schools make selections to Who’s Who
each fall. The students are featured in the college’s yearbook “The
Rocketeer.” Area students include: Devin Doole, Byron Harden, Mario
Hopkins, Stacey Moncrief, all of Byhalia; Branicus Campbell, Casey
Gibson, both of Holly Springs; Alexandria Cheatwood, Robin Smith, both
of Potts Camp; and Jerbrina Jones of Red Banks.
